Key Responsibilities

An Assistant Staff Scientist is being recruited to work on one or more projects. Potential projects include (1) developing new mathematical models to describe the glucoregulatory system of people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes during exercise and other times, (2) development of new prediction algorithms for predicting hypoglycemia and other glycemic excursions using big data analytics, (3) developing new control algorithms for automated delivery of insulin and glucagon within a smart-phone based system, (4) new digital twin approaches using real-world data including electronic health records (EHR), (5) new algorithms for forecasting islet transplant success.
The position will require skills for the development of models and machine learning algorithms that can be used both within an automated drug delivery system and within a decision support framework.
Function/Duties of Position
* Using software such as Matlab, Python, and R to develop and evaluate new and existing physiologic models, decision support algorithms, glycemic prediction algorithms, and control algorithms including MPC, FMPD, and adaptive controllers.
* Document and understand assigned processes and how applications supports these processes.
* Analyze and document requirements for internal and external lab system interfaces.

Role overview We are seeking an expert Bioinformatician to lead computational analysis for our cellular reprogramming research program. This position will support critical objectives in high-throughput screening analysis, single-cell multi-omics, and predictive modeling for transcription factor-mediated cell fate conversion, working directly with the experimental team to guide screening strategies.
Primary responsibilities
Build and maintain version-controlled repositories harmonizing publicly available datasets (sc RNA-seq, bulk RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN, ATAC-seq)
Establish and manage AWS cloud computing infrastructure from scratch for large-scale data processing
Analyze single-cell and single-nucleus RNA-seq/ATAC-seq data from raw reads through biological interpretation
