The Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) is a 15-bed, outpatient specialty area within the hospital. It may also be called an observation unit. The unit cares for a variety of populations, including Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, GYN, Pediatrics, and transitional newborn care in our Special Care Nursery. We see approximately 900 patients annually. In additional to providing specialty services for women and children of all ages, the department also provides other services, such as, but not limited to, lactation and resolve through sharing (RTS) perinatal loss support. OMH Birthing Center has over 30 staff members working as Registered Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and Health Unit Clerks. Hours: This .9 FTE commits to three 12 hour shifts per week on the weekend program. Days include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. This is not a seasonal or temporary position. The staff here provide care for patients with a diagnosis of Sepsis, Acute/Chronic Respiratory conditions, including but not limited to: Trachs/Vents, Cellulitis, Urinary Tract infections, chronic conditions such as COPD, Heart Failure, Diabetes, patients on Dialysis, and acute drug and alcohol withdrawal. Our staff are also well prepared to care for medical patients with mental health conditions and those patients with Dementia. The Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) is a 15-bed, outpatient specialty area within the hospital. It may also be called an observation unit. It is a place where a patient's health can be monitored when they do not meet the requirements for inpatient hospitalization yet require further observation before they go home. The unit allows our patients to rest in a comfortable, private healing space and to stay longer than a traditional emergency room visit. It is designed for patients who need tests or short-term treatments. We Are Hiring: Nurse Intern II - 4NW Ortho/Neuro - May 2026 Grad's 4NW is a 31 bed mixed acuity care unit that specializes in the care of orthopedic and neurological patients. Our Orthopedic patients include joint replacements, traumatic fractures and injuries to the extremities, and back pain. 4NW also cares for a variety of both medical and surgical neurological patients including stroke, movement disorders, traumatic brain/spinal injuries, and mixed neurosurgical patients. All nursing staff are NIHSS stroke certified and all caregivers receive specialized training to promote safe and early mobilization of post-surgical joint patients.
