Kennedy Jenks is seeking an Electrical Engineer in our Denver/Lakewood Colorado location. The right candidate will have experience in planning and design of water and wastewater infrastructure facilities including pump stations, buildings, treatment facilities, and related infrastructure. Successful candidates would join our growing practice providing multi-discipline engineering and environmental solutions to clients in the water environment and industrial sectors. Key Responsibilities: You will work closely with other architects, engineers and designers as a part of the Kennedy Jenks Technical Services Team. This role will involve working in a multidisciplinary team to provide solutions for a wide variety of clients throughout the United States. Support multi-disciplinary teams on electrical engineering projects. Perform power system design and studies including preparation of load flow, short circuit, protective relaying coordination and arc-flash hazard analysis. Contribute to conceptual report writing and preparation of construction plans and specifications. Working on CAD (Computer-Aided Design and Drafting) or BIM to assist in production of final design documents. Coordinate Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and associated logic diagrams with control schematics for assorted process equipment. Perform calculations for voltage drop, electrical load studies, system power flow, standby generator sizing, fault current calculations, and protective device coordination. Work on lighting and fire alarm system design. Navigate, understand, and apply the latest edition of the National Electrical Code (NEC/NFPA 70) and other applicable National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes. Perform compliance checks for electrical lighting designs to ensure compliance with applicable International Building Codes. Qualifications: B.S. in Electrical Engineering 5 or more years of experience required, preferably in municipal water/wastewater and industrial waste treatment facilities related projects Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to prepare complete, concise and organized engineering calculations and analyses AutoCAD and advanced 3D/BIM modeling capabilities along with the ability to produce 2D construction documents. MicroStation and AutoCAD experience preferred. Active PE is required or ability to obtain PE within 6 months of employment.
