The ProjectEngineer is responsible for assisting and supporting the Project Management team in the completion of jobs.
Essential Functions
Follow M&H project and account management, as well as estimating SOP's
Provide necessary support of all business functions within the division, including Business Development, Account Management, Project Management, Estimating, and Field Operations
Support the Estimating Team and Project Managers with the execution of change orders or estimates as needed
Participate within the Project Management team to ensure all responsibilities are being fulfilled
Manage cost reports, analyze budget variances, and implement strategies to reduce project costs
Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of change orders and coordinate receivables and collections with office administrative management team to ensure timely and accurate monthly job billings
Review AR, CIP, Billings, Project Cost, Change Orders, Schedule, etc.

Attend and actively participate in the weekly Operations Meeting
Review schedules, critical project activities, job start-ups, Manpower, etc.

Job Description
AECOM is seeking an experienced On-site Construction Engineer to support projects with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). This is an onsite, full-time position working 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Administer a Construction Quality Management Program (CQMP) on assigned projects. Provide advice, solutions, and assistance to the Construction Manager on technical matters requiring knowledge of engineering practices and construction methods.
Review Contractor Quality Control (CQC) and Safety plans for completeness and compliance with the terms of the construction contract. Provide review comments together with recommendations for improvements. Continually monitor contractor execution of both the CQC and Safety programs, providing corrective information as necessary.
Inspect construction work on a recurring basis to assure that the work complies with the construction contract documents. Assist the Construction Manager and Quality Assurance Manager in preparing Contract Construction Compliance Notices (CCCNs) in cases where workmanship and/or material are not in compliance with the construction contract documents or ongoing work is liable to result in unsatisfactory construction.
Assist with processing contractor submittals and requests for information including progress schedules, utility outage requests, shop drawings and O&M manuals for accuracy and compliance with the terms of the contract.
Assist with the review of contractor requests for payment by comparing the monthly invoice to the field pay estimate worksheet and most recent progress schedule.
Coordinating and monitoring all utility work with various agencies including the Contractor to enhance the completion of the project.
Prepare and process construction contract "closing-out" documents.
Assist in document management and project controls support, including maintaining electronic document control systems and project files/documentation.
Attend preparatory meetings and participate in the 3-Phase inspection process required under the contract.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture with 4 Years of relevant experience in construction.
Valid US Driver's License.
Due to the nature of the project, US citizenship is required.
Preferred Requirements:
5+ years of progressively challenging experience on major construction projects.
Construction Quality Management Certification (CQM-C)
Familiarity with Construction Project Documentation
Experience working in a time-sensitive environment with direct client interface and high-level accountability.
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, plan, adapt and self-initiate tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Experience in resident engineering, construction management, project management, engineering, and related fields.

Project description:
The Colorado 150 Tapestry project is a work of textile art to be commissioned by a private family foundation in celebration of the 150th anniversary of Colorado statehood. Working with a local artist, the tapestry intends to tell Colorado's collective story in ways that connect Coloradans with our shared history. This artwork will focus on what makes Colorado special and unique, including representations of the diversity of land, people and places within the state and will include recent history and contemporary historical Colorado figures. The piece may complement existing publicly displayed works of art celebrating Colorado's history, such as the Colorado Women's Gold tapestry that was developed for the 100th anniversary of Colorado statehood and displayed in the Colorado State Capitol.
The piece may culminate in a permanent display in a public location. The project may include community participation events throughout its production, interpretation, narration and storytelling produced alongside the art to accompany the piece in both written and other forms for exhibition throughout the state. This ambitious initiative requires strong leadership to target successful delivery by December 2026.
Budget:
The total project budget is up to $250,000 inclusive of: project manager; artist contract and materials; community participation events; interpretation and installation.
Project Manager Scope:
The Project Manager (PM) will play a key role in the planning, coordination and execution of the CO 150 Tapestry project. Working in close partnership with the Foundation Manager and President of Philanthropy, the PM will manage the day-to-day aspects of development of the Tapestry project and exhibition from final project approval through final installation of tapestry at its permanent location. The role combines strategic leadership with operational execution, overseeing project planning, scope, and objectives while ensuring alignment with the concept vision. The role is structured as a contract position with an expected duration of nine months with possibility for extension aligned with project timelines.

Civil/Track - ProjectEngineer
We are seeking to hire a licensed ProjectEngineer in our Civil/Track Design department, part of our thriving Railroad Services group. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, collaborate with seasoned Project Managers, Engineers, and Technicians, and contribute to projects for Class I, short line, and commuter rail clients. As a Track Engineer at Benesch, you will play a pivotal role in designing and engineering various rail and transit systems, including light rail (LRT), heavy rail (HRT), and commuter, freight. You will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment, closely coordinating with design teams to deliver innovative solutions for our clients.
Benesch's Railroad Division is made up of highly skilled rail professionals, many of whom are former employees of operating railroads. This firsthand experience working to design and maintain active rail systems uniquely equips our team to develop innovative solutions to a wide variety of rail projects.
Location
This position offers a hybrid work schedule with the flexibility to work from the following offices that host a Railroad-Track team and focus on Railroad-Track business development: Kansas City, KS; Omaha, NE; Milwaukee, WI; Chicago, IL; Naperville, IL; Charlotte, NC; and Raleigh, NC.
The Impact You Will Have
Serve as a track design engineer on projects of various scales.
Provide essential support to track and civil discipline leads in major infrastructure projects.
Conduct quantity take-offs for all track corridor components, encompassing both track and civil elements.
Participate in the development of technical specifications.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional design teams.
Offer valuable support to Project Managers (PM)
What We Are Looking For
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) plus 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
5 years of industry experience working on rail and transit projects.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain it within 1 year.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley InRoads/OpenRoads/OpenRail.
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley InRoads/OpenRoads/OpenRail.
Experience working on Railroad projects

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the State of Illinois Pay Transparency Act, Illinois Pay Transparency Law. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on numerous factors, including but not limited to individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and geographic location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary, overtime, and bonuses.

Assist ProjectEngineers, Project Managers, and Superintendents with day-to-day project activities
Support document control efforts, including RFIs, submittals, drawings, and specifications
Assist with project scheduling, progress tracking, and reporting
Participate in quantity takeoffs, cost tracking, and budget support activities
Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
Attend project meetings, site walks, and safety briefings
Help maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with company standards and project requirements
Support quality control and safety initiatives on the jobsite
Perform additional duties as assigned to support successful project delivery
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
Strong interest in construction and project delivery
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with construction software is a plus
Willingness to travel or relocate temporarily based on project needs
Preferred:
Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
Familiarity with construction software
Experience in construction, industrial services, manufacturing, or other asset-intensive, multi-site organizations

Work Environment:
Ability to work in both office and active construction site environments
Must be able to comply with all safety requirements and policies
Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift up to 25 lbs as needed
Potential visits to outdoor industrial sites with exposure to weather extremes.
Potential exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, or other environmental factors.
This role requires compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro's Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies.
