Hermeus is a high-speed aircraft manufacturer focused on the rapid design, build, and test of high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft for the national interest. The Flight Software team is a dynamic group that rapidly supports vehicle testing and development for the hypersonic quarter-horse program. The team is responsible for all software to remotely control the aircraft, command control surfaces, navigate the platform, and solve hard embedded programming issues.
Spring: around 12-16 weeks (January - April) Summer: around 10 weeks (May - August)
Responsibilities:
Assist in the development of onboard flight software
Support debugging and resolution of active software issues
Contribute to the design and implementation of hardware-in-the-loop test setups
Participate in validation and testing of flight hardware
Collaborate with the Flight Software team to meet current project needs and milestones
Minimum Requirements:
Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Entry level experience of C++, C, or other embedded programming languages.
Experience with working with hardware integrations and embedded computers (Raspberry PIs, arduinos, STM32s).
Strong understanding of engineering first principles
Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams
Enthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus' mission
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
GPA of 3.0 or above
