We are seeking a full-time mechanical engineer or mechanical designer with at least 3 years of experience to support the growth and expansion of our business. The position would start as a "mechanical engineer/designer" and potentially progress over time to "project manager” or “project engineer." Key ResponsibilitiesPosition will involve HVAC and Plumbing system design, design computations including loads, air and piping distribution and sizing, equipment selection, specification preparation, field work (both design investigation and construction observation), design review and correspondence with clients, colleagues, owners, and contractors. • Preparation of design layouts for commercial and industrial mechanical systems based on specific design objectives. • Preparation of schematics for various systems. • Collaboration with all disciplines to achieve completed coordinated design and reviewing the work of others. • Performance of on-site investigation to confirm existing conditions. • Developing familiarity with current mechanical codes and standards. • Forming relationships with equal level personnel of other disciplines (architectural, electrical, structural civil, etc.) and manufacturing sales representatives. • Becoming familiar with and preparing general and mechanical specifications. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise• Must have consultative mechanical engineering experience. Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others. • Familiarity with system specific materials, components, and systems. • Basic knowledge of high mathematics relative to the work. • Oral and written communications skills. • Analytical ability to solve complex problems. • Working ability/knowledge of AutoCad. • Working ability/knowledge of REVIT is not required, but desired.
