Position Summary
Oatey is seeking an Occupational Safety Summer Intern to lead various safety projects of significance within the organization. The Occupational Safety Intern will assist the Health and Safety team in implementing and monitoring safety programs and procedures to ensure a safe working environment in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory guidelines. This internship offers hands-on experience in workplace inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, safety training, and documentation.
The OS Intern will have the opportunity to partner with Environmental Health, Safety, and Security professionals within the corporate and field locations in promoting awareness of safety issues/concerns, reducing risk of occupational injuries, and environmental waste management.
Responsibilities
Assist with conducting safety audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and work practices.
Support in hazard identification, risk assessment, and recommending corrective actions.
Participate in incident investigations to include root cause analysis and reporting.
Help update and maintain safety policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
Assist in developing and delivering safety training sessions.
Maintain records related to OSHA compliance, SDSs, and incident logs.
Collaborate with departments to promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.
Perform other safety-related tasks and projects as assigned.

Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 250 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.
The CSIS Europe, Russia, and Eurasia (ERE) program seeks to develop a deeper understanding of Europe's political, security, and economic evolution and its future role in the world; geopolitical developments in the circumpolar Arctic; the implications of Russia's foreign and defense policies for transatlantic security; and political and economic developments in Russia and Eurasia.
The research internship will focus on ERE's Russia portfolio. More specifically, an intern will provide research assistance within a project funded by the Russia Strategic Initiative, U.S. European Command. The project is looking at Russia's key defense firms, various internal and external factors impacting production rates and product quality, along with Moscow's overall defense industrial manufacturing capacity.
Tentative internship start and end dates are February 2, 2026 and May 29, 2026. The internship will be part-time (around 20 hours per week) and can be hybrid, with both virtual and in-person components, depending on the candidate's location and availability.
The hired candidates will be paid hourly, commensurate with experience ($18.00/hour for current undergraduate hires, $19.00/hour for hires with a bachelor's degree, and $20.00/hour for hires with a master's degree).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:
* Provide relevant research, writing, and editing support to multiple staff members within the highlighted research project;
* Discover, clean, organize, and analyze various Russian-language data sources;
* Monitor relevant Russian-language paper and press releases;
* Perform ad hoc requests and other duties as necessary in support of staff members within the highlighted research project.
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
* Should be currently enrolled in a thematically relevant master's or bachelor's program (in the case of undergrads, 3rd or 4th year students are preferred);
* Interest or experience in Russian domestic and foreign policies; Russian defense industry; and/or Russian economy;
* Advanced knowledge of Russian language is required;
* Knowledge of different data scraping and processing tools (R Studio, Python, etc.) is preferred;

* Strong writing, editing, communication, and time management skills.

The masters level internship is a clinical practice position for students in an accredited human services master's degree program that prepares students to perform clinical duties in accordance with licensing, certification and accreditation standards. The individual is expected to embrace the co-occurring treatment philosophy which integrates a strength based, child/family centered, trauma informed, culturally competent, and recovery oriented philosophy. The intern will carry a selected range of cases through which an increasing knowledge of best practice principles and methods, and knowledge of community resources is demonstrated.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under close supervision, provide clinical services to a selected client population.
Learn to successfully engage clients in services as demonstrated by client treatment completion rates, increased client functioning and client completion of treatment plan objectives.
Learn to formulate psychosocial evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans in consultation with supervisor.
Demonstrate an increasing comprehension of the dynamics of human behavior, family systems, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders and appropriate intervention techniques.
Under close supervision, provide treatment services appropriate to the personal and cultural identity and language of the client.
Learn to evaluate and treat co-occurring disorders using a standardized co-occurring assessment tool.
Learn to provide specific documentation of history and chronology of both mental health and substance abuse disorders
Learn to write treatment plans that address mental health and substance abuse disorders equivalently in specific detail
Learn to use treatment interventions in addition to medications to address mental health disorders
Learn to provide integrated evidence based practice to clients as evidenced by supervisor observation, case presentations and audio or video taped sessions with clients.
Learn to determine the client's readiness for treatment and change as well as the needs of others involved in the current situation.
Learn to formulate mutually agreed-on and measurable treatment goals and objectives.
Learn to carry out appropriate treatment plans, according to best practice standards, and evaluate the progress throughout treatment and at termination.
