Two 13-week Student Conservation Association (SCA) Individual Placement interns at Calaveras Big Trees State Park to provide interpretive programs and staff the Visitor Center.
The interns will be trained on the natural and cultural history of Calaveras Big Trees State Park, with the main focus on giant sequoias, as well as interpretation as a whole. The interns will deliver information about the park to visitors at our Visitor Center and lead interpretive guided hikes, Little and Junior Ranger programs, and campfire programs to visitors of all ages and from all over the world. Other duties include staffing annual interpretive special events, outreach events such as parades, and administrative tasks. They may participate in other programmatic areas including law enforcement and natural resources.

This is an exciting opportunity to help promote some of California's premier fisheries and desertregion biodiversity. This job will allow you to work in a range of conditions, from the high Sierra to Death Valley as a part of a dynamic fisheries team. Work will include leading trout in the classroom events, attending fishing derbies, leading fishing in the city events, and creel sampling.
Under the close supervision of a Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory), the Fish and Wildlife Interpreter I works in concert with aquatic education program, leads and partners to carry out CDFW's Urban Fishing Program (Fishing in the City) and Classroom Aquarium Education Program. The incumbent also supports or coordinates regional outreach, education, and interpretation events and special projects, such as Earthday Festivals, TriCounty Fair, and Opening Day outreach.

Working Conditions
This job entails office and outdoor event work that includes working weekdays, weekends, nights, and some holidays, working in adverse weather conditions including: cold, heat, rain, snow, or high winds and will be required to travel up to 25% throughout the Region, State, and bordering states as requested or needed. The Position requires the incumbent to wear a uniform identifying the employee as CDFW staff. This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule depending on operational needs.

Compensation and Benefits
Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $18.45 - $25.00 per hour
Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $18.45 - $185.33 per hour
This part-time (equivalent to up to 25 hours per week) position is temporary and expected to end on or before June 30, 2026. Extension of this assignment is contingent upon sufficient additional funding and satisfactory performance.

Job Summary

About the Position

Responsibilities
Provide professional level sign language interpreting/transliterating services for students, faculty, staff and guests of the campus who are Deaf, hard-of-hearing, or deaf-blind in a variety of assignments across campus.
Interpret or transliterate classroom instruction and campus-related assignments beyond the classroom (i.e., meetings, review sessions, field experiences), as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
Certification Requirements:

Generally, wide acquaintance with academic higher education through attendance at or graduation from a four year college or university may be essential to provide interpreting services at a level required for the position assignments.

EXTRA-HELP EMPLOYMENT
Extra-help employees relieve or augment permanent staff. Temporary, extra-help employees are not in the classified civil service and do not have property rights to permanently allocated positions. Supported by a regional network of care, our 11-acre academic cancer campus in Irvine is home to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center, our outpatient cancer center, and Orange County's only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025.
With the opening of the hospital, the full continuum of advanced cancer care-from prevention through survivorship-will be available in Orange County for the first time, eliminating the need to travel for lifesaving treatment. Seamlessly connected to our outpatient cancer center, the new clinical research hospital will feature 73 inpatient beds, advanced surgical suites, groundbreaking clinical trials, and holistic services such as rehabilitative therapy and spiritual care. This isn't standard cancer care. This is lifesaving cancer care. This is Hope.
We are seeking experienced nurses for our 8-bed Evaluation and Treatment Center (ETC) at City of Hope Orange County Cancer Specialty Hospital as a Clinical Nurse III in the ETC you will provide compassionate care to our oncology patients who are requiring urgent evaluation and intervention. This role is vital in addressing acute symptoms related to cancer, treatment side effects, and oncologic emergencies.
The Clinical Nurse III performs rapid assessments, triage, and stabilization with strong understanding of oncology pathophysiology and the unique needs of immunocompromised patients. You will collaborate closely with physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team, the Clinical Nurse ensure timely, individualized care that prioritizes both safety and the dignity of the patient.
The position requires clinical expertise, strong critical thinking, emotional resilience, and a deep commitment to supporting patents and families.
As a successful candidate, you will:
* Utilizes the nursing process and practice standards as a framework for the management of patient care.
* Can assess patient conditions, recognize early signs of complications, escalation of care when necessary, and continuity of care through coordination with inpatient, outpatient, and palliative teams.
* Administering specialized medications, monitoring treatment responses, managing central lines and infusion devices.
* Demonstrates knowledge of the clinical information system and applies principles to patient documentation.
* Prioritizes holistic care, addressing both the physical and emotional needs of the patients.
* Serves as a mentor and role model to new staff members.
* Delegates to licensed and unlicensed personnel.
* Integrates and practices according to the City of Hope Professional Practice Model to deliver care service excellence.
* In alignment with City of Hope mission and values, the Division of Nursing and Patient Care Services vision and mission, and with continuous focus on the patient, family and community, carries out the nursing process, coordinates interdisciplinary care planning, documents according to standards, including validation of the patient and caregiver's understanding of the plan of care and expected outcomes.
