ServiceTechnician Role & Responsibilities
Perform maintenance, inspection, and repairs on overhead cranes within the allowed hours without compromising safety or quality. Perform spot checks to ensure the highest level of quality & workmanship.
Working knowledge: electromechanical troubleshooting (480V, 3-phase motor control, VFD, AC/DC).
Working at heights & some heavy lifting.
Document findings and make consultative recommendations regarding the repair and safety-related concerns to the customer for the inspected equipment.

LFG Specialties is a part of the Solid Waste Services group within APTIM's Environmental & Energy Solutions Strategic Business Unit. LFG Specialties is an original equipment manufacturer and has been servicing the solid waste industry (i.e., landfills) since 1987, providing custom fabricated compliance equipment (i.e., landfill gas extraction and compression systems, flares, and evaporation systems for the treatment of landfill leachate), service, and parts. These modular systems are designed, fabricated, and tested at APTIM's Findlay, OH campus, which consists of over 45,000 sq. ft. of fabrication and assembly shop area. These systems serve to minimize fugitive landfill gas emissions and reduce leachate volumes to maintain compliance with the EPA guidelines for MSW landfills and mitigate the release of Greenhouse Gases that deteriorate the ozone.
We are one of the leading providers of equipment to the landfill gas industry. We design and fabricate gas flaring, drying, compression and evaporation equipment. We currently have multiple openings for experienced ServiceTechnicians to engage in the maintenance, repair, and startup of our equipment at customer sites. Weekly travel is required. Reporting into an office is not required.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Travel to and from client sites in a multi-state region, typically 3-4 days each week.
Work with senior technicians for first year during training.
Modify, assess, and repair electrical control and power systems (480VAC to signal wiring).
Modify pneumatic plumbing, installation/replacement of mechanical components into existing systems. Perform preventative maintenance including bearing changes and wire tightening Travel to and from client sites in a multi-state region, typically 3-6 days each week.

Job Summary:

Performs tests and calculations, compiles data and summarizes test results into test reports and checklists. Verifies calculations are consistent with results of measurements. Assembles and disassembles test samples, hooks-up laboratory test equipment in preparation for testing; operates most laboratory test equipment without supervision.
Records technical data, draft reports, writes product descriptions. Performs mathematical calculations required to summarize test results. Relates test results to product specifications. Acts as a liaison with other departments as required by supervisor.
Notes and records substandard features of products which may appear before or during the tests and refer them to PGM, Lab Manager or Certifier.
Maintains good housekeeping of tools, equipment and work area following tests and carry out assigned laboratory clean-up duties.

2. Diagnose, analyze, and troubleshoot EMC/EMI/SI test configurations.
• Troubleshoot test set-ups.
• Program/debug/troubleshoot automated test controller systems.
• Identify product performance anomalies according to test plan/product specifications.
3. Gather, analyze, and report EMC/EMI/SI data.
• Review test results to ensure proper data collection and integrity of test.
• Document test results and compile final test reports.
• Effectively communicate in concise format.
4. Support technical direction of EMC/EMI/SI testing.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of EMC and SI testing systems and procedures.
• Develop and support new test technology.
• Assist in the automation of EMC and SI test systems.
Qualifications:
• Two-year associates degree in an engineering discipline and/or equivalent experience required.
• Background in analog and digital circuitry preferred.
• Working knowledge with electronic/electrical test equipment preferred.
• High level of verbal and written communication skills preferred.
• One to three years of related experience in electromagnetic compatibility or RF testing. Preferred.
• Working knowledge of radio frequency preferred.
• Computer programming skills with knowledge of networks preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding of engineering theory and principles of design.
- Capability in problem solving.
- Ability to work independently and with others.
- Working knowledge of digital signal analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and DMM.
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and as part of a team.
