  • Director of Procurement

    The Sterling Choice

Purchasing manager job in Dallas, TX

Procurement Director - Food Manufacturing Dallas, TX | $170k-$200k + ~25% bonus Most procurement roles talk about influence. This one is about impact. A Dallas-based food manufacturer is on a genuine modernisation and scaling journey. They're investing in operations, tightening up processes, and building the capabilities needed for the next stage of growth. One area ready for transformation? Procurement. Right now, purchasing works - but it works in a very “traditional” way: reactive, relationship-led, and focused on getting things done in the moment. What the business needs next is someone who can bring structure, education, and a more strategic mindset to how they buy. What you'll shape You'll take ownership of procurement across: Ingredients & raw materials Packaging (film, corrugate, printed) Indirects (uniforms, PPE, consumables) Support for CapEx and equipment purchasing The goal isn't to fix something broken - it's to elevate it. You'll help the business understand how modern procurement unlocks cost, service, and scale. You'll bring in the processes, tools, and supplier discipline that the organisation simply hasn't had exposure to yet. This is about guiding a business - and its people - through a step-change in capability. The mandate Modernise procurement processes and introduce standards Lead the organisation on what “good” looks like Drive cost savings, resilience, and supplier performance Build stronger cross-functional alignment with Ops, Quality, Finance, and Supply Chain Educate and influence the wider business to drive smarter buying Position procurement as a strategic partner, not a transactional function Build a procurement function that is set to scale with the business at pace You're not inheriting a mess - you're building a maturity curve. Who they need Someone who: Comes from food manufacturing (frozen a plus) Has deep experience in ingredients + packaging procurement Enjoys bringing teams on a journey, not dictating from above, hands on approach Knows how to implement process without killing agility Is commercially sharp, influential, and hands-on Thrives in environments that are scaling and evolving - any PE experience is advantagous. What's on offer $170k-$200k base ~25% bonus A seat at the table as the organisation grows The chance to design, shape, and elevate a core business function If you want to lead a transformation rather than inherit someone else's work, this is the opportunity.
