Position Summary The Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring manufactured products and processes meet stringent safety, regulatory, and customer requirements. The Quality Specialist will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales & Marketing, Technical teams, and the Materials Testing Laboratory to support on-time delivery while maintaining the highest quality standards. This position requires a strong working knowledge of AS9100 quality systems. Experience with AS9145 Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) is highly preferred, and exposure to AS13100 is a plus. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, methodical, and thrives in a regulated manufacturing environment where precision and accountability are critical. Key Responsibilities Support surveillance, inspections, acceptance testing, audits, and corrective actions to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and customer requirements. Participate in root cause investigations and drive corrective and preventive actions for quality issues. Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales & Marketing, Technical teams, and the Materials Testing Laboratory to resolve quality concerns and support delivery commitments. Ensure compliance with AS9100 quality management system requirements; support APQP activities where applicable. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience working in an AS9100 or AS9120 governed environment. Strong understanding of safety protocols within manufacturing and materials testing laboratory environments. Solid math skills and familiarity with chemistry nomenclature and technical terminology. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting. Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AS9145 APQP and familiarity with APQP deliverables. Exposure to AS13100 quality requirements. Experience working with materials testing laboratory equipment and ISO 17025 processes. Familiarity with aerospace and defense Nadcap subscribers and their supply chains (e.g., GE Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce).

WHAT YOU BRING Bachelor's degree in automotive engineering, vehicle maintenance or related field. Related experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four years. Coursework in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance theory and repair including body, frame and chassis, axles, steering, brakes, electrical, engines, transmissions, air systems, or other pertinent course work. Three (3) years' experience in bus or heavy vehicle maintenance repair including two (2) years at CapMetro or another transit or fleet operation. Experience in bus or heavy vehicle inspection preferred. Experience in operating various types of transit buses, performing visual and measured inspections on transit buses. The Quality Assurance manager will conduct site visits to all projects on a monthly basis or more, as required. The QA Manager will also review and report on processes and deficiencies that are noted during the site visits. In addition, he will review reports from consultants and ensure that the team is addressing them in a timely fashion. Ensure that units conform to approved “Box Walks” and approved mock-ups. Assist in setting QC standards in preparation for Punch walks by QC Dir. Assist with due diligence lists from potential buyers during the sale of a property. At project completion, Audit the Warranty folders to confirm all requirements are met. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree or 10 plus years of construction field experience. 10 Years of construction experience or 5 years of construction field if accompanied by a Construction or related degree Good typing and communication skills. The successful candidate will also support internal Signature Science quality programs through maintenance of the quality management system and QA laboratory support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with planning and implementation of chemical analysis proficiency tests for methods such as gas chromatograph mass spectrometry (GC/MS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), percent moisture determination, liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), high performance liquid chromatography - ultraviolet (HPLC-UV), and Raman. Activities include developing proficiency test plans, performing laboratory pilot testing, preparing and verifying proficiency test samples, and packaging samples for shipment. Perform laboratory activities related to the preparation and verification of proficiency test samples, as detailed below: o Creation of standards/spiking mixes, o Sample creation, o Sample extraction/dilution, and sample analysis, using techniques such as GC/MS, FTIR, percent moisture determination, LC-MS/MS, HPLC-UV, and Raman.
