Our data loggers are principally used for cold chain management solutions to ensure that food, medical and pharmaceutical products are stored and transported in their required temperature conditions. Our devices are also extensively used for environmental and heating/ventilation monitoring for building management, plus energy-saving applications. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE (Overview & Key Responsibilities): Our QA Specialist is responsible for coordinating all aspects of quality and validation functions. This role includes developing, executing, and maintaining quality and validation processes to ensure that products and services comply with regulatory agency requirements, internal company standards, ISO 9001/17025 expectations, and current industry best practices. The position also supports continuous improvement initiatives by reviewing quality and validation processes and recommending enhancements in collaboration with Quality, Instrumentation, Operations, and R&D teams. Location Specific Responsibilities: QA/QC inspection: Perform and reinforce quality inspections at the CVT Roanoke location to ensure all products, including data loggers, devices, and calibration services, meet internal quality standards and regulatory requirements. Mapping services and validation: Collaborate closely with the Quality Director and the QC/Validation Specialist at the Montreal site to support mapping services remotely under the MTL account, advance all mapping projects on the roadmap, and ensure alignment and consistency across sites. QC/QA Inspection During Production and Prior to Shipment: Reinforce quality inspection activities throughout production to ensure products, components, and calibration services meet internal quality standards and customer requirements. Perform final QC/QA inspections for all orders shipped to customers, including data loggers, devices, and calibration services, to confirm compliance with specifications and regulatory expectations. Document all inspection results during production and prior to shipment, and report any deviations, nonconformities, or required corrective actions (CAPA) in a timely and accurate manner. Quality System Improvements Identify, implement, and review improvements to QA/QC processes (policies, change control, SOPs, technical documentation) supporting regulatory, instrumentation, and R&D activities. Maintain familiarity with laboratory operations, QA/QC procedures, quality system regulations, and standards to support both the Operations, R&D and Quality departments. Primary Purpose: Under the direction of the Quality Supervisor is responsible for executing required functions of the quality department to assure product safety and quality. Prepares, reviews, and audits quality information according to established quality assurance plans. Additional responsibilities may include Hold for Inspection (HFI) sampling, corporate and plant project support, data collection for Customer Complaints and British Retail Consortium (BRC) certification initiatives. This role provides daily support of Managers, Operations Lead personnel, Operator Technicians and may include training of new employees in quality systems, functions and tasks. Responsibilities & Accountabilities: Comply with safety policies and practices while maintaining a safe work environment and inspection equipment (labs). Shall understand the Food Safety Policy, GMP's, HACCP Principle and Food Safety Standard. Assist with the HFI process to include documentation, production accounting, disposition, rework activities, AQL or sampling, and the HFI areas. Perform daily quality records review of the continuous verification process as required. Perform audits of various quality systems as required. Assist in the maintenance of quality function documentation such as forms, instructions, training guides, as well as records for Food/Product Safety & GMP compliance in accordance with record retention policies & requirements. Attain proficiency and qualification in all quality checks. Perform incoming material inspections and verifications as required. Assist in the coordination of SMA's with the production team as necessary including collect and organization of relevant data. Assist in quality functions required for commissioning activities. Establish and maintain 5S and a high level of housekeeping standards. Perform successfully in a self-directed work team environment. Support Plant and Corporate projects which require data collection and analysis. Assist in new hire training as required. Other responsibilities as assigned.
