Reporting to the QA Manager, you will provide guidance, technical assistance and scheduling to quality assurance technicians and associates. As a quality assurance professional, you are involved in all aspects of quality and safety including audits, HACCP program evaluation, GMP training, sanitation evaluation, pest control, purchasing supplies, working with operations personnel on quality and safety issues, inspecting returned and incoming products, customer complaints, implementing policies and procedures and evaluating new equipment installation or repair. What they will be doing/ working on: This person will be working on electro-mechanical systems, helping to design, test, troubleshoot, and assemble prototype electronic circuits and specialized test equipment. The Quality Technician ensures that products and processes meet established quality standards by conducting inspections, tests, and audits. This role involves collaborating with production, engineering, customer service, and sales teams in identifying quality issues, and assisting with implementing corrective actions to maintain compliance with company and regulatory requirements. This individual will report to the Quality Supervisor and be a strong partner to our operators and supervisors on the floor. This person will have to captivate and communicate with all departments to address issues, propose resolutions, and see through the quality vision for the company. They will also maintain proper reporting, documentation, and any other necessary routines for the department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications to verify that products meet required standards. Use standard measurement tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, tape measures, micrometers, gauges) to check and document product dimensions. Perform visual and dimensional inspections on incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods. Record inspection results accurately and communicate nonconformances to appropriate personnel. Support Shipping & Receiving by inspecting incoming and outgoing products when required. Maintain and organize quality logs, including Nonconforming Material (NCM) records, Returned Material Authorization (RMA) records, and scrap tracking logs. Assist in monitoring scrap trends and providing relevant inspection data to production. Track and maintain the calibration status of measuring tools and equipment. Participate in internal audits to verify compliance with established procedures, quality standards, and customer requirements. Assist with quality documentation activities such as PPAPs or first article inspections, when needed. Support training efforts by helping production employees understand quality standards and proper inspection methods. Participate in problem-solving activities to help identify root causes of quality issues and support corrective actions. Work independently to perform inspections, maintain logs, and resolve routine quality issues with limited on-site supervision. Communicate end-of-shift updates, nonconformances, and outstanding issues to the incoming shift and QC leadership. Coordinate with operators and supervisors to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the shift. Provide flexible inspection support across multiple production departments as required. Maintain knowledge of quality standards and best practices through training and professional development. Perform other quality-related duties as assigned. Your role at Baxter The Quality Technician will primarily support Laboratory operations at the Round Lake Manufacturing facility in Round Lake, IL. This position encompasses testing support for pharmaceutical products (biologics and drugs) through all stages of the manufacturing process including incoming raw materials, in-process samples and finished product and includes facility environmental and critical systems monitoring. The shift for this position is a day shift 6am-6:30pm What you'll be doing Perform visual inspection testing on final products. Work under minimum supervision. Proactively and collaboratively connect with peers and management to ensure awareness of progress and issues; recommend solutions when issues arise. Use laboratory instrumentation and computer systems (i.e. LIMS) to collect and record data. Monitor inventory of supplies, equipment, and reagents; stock supplies as necessary.
