What you'll be doing:
Implement the nursing care plan for each patient.
Provide nursing services, treatments and diagnostic and preventative procedures as assigned.
Initiate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures as appropriate.
Observe signs and symptoms and report to the physician and RN reactions to treatments, including drugs and changes in the patient's physical or emotional condition.
Teach and counsel the patient and family/significant others regarding the nursing care needs and other related problems of the patient at home.
Maintain accurate and complete records of observations, treatments, and care of patients.

Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking to hire a highly organized and detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse, PN -Corrections. This position will be responsible for performing direct nursing care to individuals in a correctional facility. The successful candidate shall demonstrate a valid Illinois License and good oral and written communication skills, be a self-starter, and be able to carry out nursing pursuant to the direction of medical personnel in a correctional setting. Essential Functions
* Makes rounds with physician to monitor and report on patients' progress.
* Examines, recognizes, and interprets symptoms of residents.
* Orders medical and other supplies.
* Prepares and administers medication within the limits of authority.
* Participates in completing orientation and in-service training of employees.
* Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications

Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Corrections is looking to hire a highly organized and detail-oriented Licensed Registered Nurse, Corrections Nurse II. This position will be responsible for performing direct nursing care to individuals in a correctional facility. The successful candidate shall demonstrate a valid Illinois License and good oral and written communication skills, be a self-starter, and be able to carry out nursing assignments pursuant to the direction of medical personnel in a correctional setting. Qualifications

Nursing Home Administration license preferred.
Candidates must have five years of experience working in various components of a long term care, including three years direct clinical experience, and two years senior management experience.
