Education, License & Cert:

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred.
If certified prior to 2021, may be grandfathered and exempt from degree requirement.
Experience:
Experience preferred, but may be trained on‐the‐job, if recent graduate. Must have general knowledge of surgical procedures, and draw specialized training from working with physician or physicians on the job.
Essential Functions:
Demonstrates competence in performance of technical skills relative to clinical area of practice
Utilizes and maintained surgical instruments according to manufacturer's recommendations and Department guidelines
Utilizes positive interpersonal skills in all forms of communication.
Applies base knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and pharmacology for optimal surgical patient care.
Demonstrates knowledge and practice of patient care concepts.
Applies the principles of sterile technique during surgical procedures.
Participates in orientation and training program to attain competency in all services.
Maintains certification by participating in continuing education activities/provides documentation of required continuing education credits.
Promotes teamwork and collaboration among all members of the surgical team.
Practices within the scope of current policies and procedures of the nursing Department and nursing unit guidelines.
Demonstrates effective time management, flexibility and priority setting regarding work assignment.
Attends and participates in unit council meetings, utilizes staff meetings and other appropriate channels to resolve problems.

Position Summary: The Neurodiagnostic Technologist is responsible for conducting electroneurodiagnostic procedures on the patient. This includes assessments, testing, the collection and technical interpretation of data, the completion of reports and billing forms.
Nature and Scope: Under the clinical supervision of the Clinical Coordinator, Clinical Manager and NeuroCare Director perform electroneurodiagnostic studies and tasks at an advanced level due to extensive job knowledge and skills normally acquired through experience and continuing education. Perform routine and complex procedures to obtain data for use in the diagnosis of clinical disorders of the nervous system in at least one of the following modalities of Neurodiagnostics: Electroencephalography (EEG), Evoked Potentials (EP), Long-Term Monitoring (CLTM) and Transcranial Doppler (TCD).
Provides training and education support to other NeuroCare technologists and/or surgical neurophysiologists as needed. Gathers and documents accurate medical information and documentation. Communicates with other healthcare professionals and delivers high quality patient care.
1. Patient Setup
* Explain test procedures so they are understood by the patient and any family members who are present using age appropriate guidelines.
* Accurately takes and documents a pertinent history from the patient or chart. Perform one of the following END study: EEG, Evoked Potentials or TCD.
* Sets-up patient for appropriate study to include: patient, paperwork, room and equipment.
* Measure and accurately apply recording electrodes in a timely manner, according to the International 10-20 Electrode Placement System
2. END Equipment
* Calibrate, evaluate and adjust equipment, optimizing recording and stimulation parameters, to acquire salient data and information.
* Implement appropriate troubleshooting methods, such as adjusting sensitivity, to assure accurate recording of information.
* Keep equipment clean and in proper working order, reporting malfunctions to supervisor and/or manufacturer.
* Performs needed daily maintenance on equipment as required.
3. END Recording • Runs studies with appropriate documentation on study, observation of the patient, troubleshooting equipment and physiological artifacts, distinguishing normal from abnormal and utilizing appropriate resources to perform study.
* Recognizes and takes appropriate action to respond to evolving patient care needs.
* Demonstrates ability to apply knowledge to different testing situations to include regular participation in the on-call schedule, working independently on 2nd, 3rd and weekend shifts in the Laboratory or ICU.
4. Documentation • Accurately prepare in a timely manner, all records, files and work/technical sheet, including a technical description of the modality recorded, with emphasis on the clinical observations in order to assist the neurologists and/or designated MD with the final interpretation.
5. Additional Duties • Demonstrates proper cleaning procedures for the patient, room and equipment after each study.
* Uses down time for training, cleaning equipment and reading educational materials.
* Assist new Neurodiagnostic Technologists following completion of training.
* Attend scientific courses and seminars for continuing education as required.
* Perform additional duties as assigned by the Clinical Coordinator, Manager or Corporate staff.

**The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a FT EEG Tech for the Night Shift! The schedule will be as follows: 7:30pm-8am 3 (nights/week) with expected rotating Saturday coverage. Job Summary:
Assist residents with activities of daily living while encouraging independence, under the supervision of licensed staff. Administer and record medications as ordered by the physician, in accordance with certification regulations.
Essential Functions:
* Treat all information about residents, their condition, and family as confidential information.

* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program.

* This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

Job Summary:
Assist residents with activities of daily living while encouraging independence, under the supervision of licensed staff. Administer and record medications as ordered by the physician, in accordance with certification regulations.
Essential Functions:
* Treat all information about residents, their condition, and family as confidential information.
* Comply with established policies and procedures and maintain established standards and practices.
* Assist with or provide personal hygiene care, including bathing, shaving, changing clothing, nail care, and toilet needs.
* Ensure residents have clean, dry linen and make beds as needed.
* Support proper resident nutrition during meal and snack times.
* Perform resident treatments as assigned by the Head Nurse and within the nursing scope of practice.
* Accurately observe, record, and report changes in resident condition or needs to the Head Nurse.
* Actively participate in the planning of resident care.
* Promote activities of daily living according to the resident's service plan.
* Conduct resident lifts and transfers according to the resident's service plan and the Lift Free Program.
* Prepare and administer oral, topical, and inhalant medications, recording administration in the resident's medical record, and monitoring and reporting changes in condition related to medication administration.
* Perform other functions as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
* Must be certified on state registry as a Medication Technician within 120 days of employment.
* Ability to frequently lift and transfer up to 30 pounds of resident weight (approximately 15 times) throughout the shift.
* Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn constantly throughout an eight (8) hour shift.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to perform sequential tasks.
* Motivation and desire to work with geriatric residents.
* Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, to carry out care plans and provide appropriate resident care.
* CPR certification and basic First Aid preferred.
* Licensed Nursing Assistant in the state where care is provided a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work on their feet constantly during an 8-hour shift; bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently throughout the shift while performing regular duties. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds of resident weight and/or transfer and reposition residents at least 25 times throughout the shift. Must be capable of quick and decisive reactions in emergencies and in response to unexpected resident behavior during lifting, repositioning, or other direct contact situations. Must be able to physically transfer residents to safer locations in the event of a fire or other emergencies. Ability to perform sequential events/tasks efficiently.
