Raytheon's Commodity Supplier Assurance team has an opportunity for a Principal Supplier Engineer based in Arkansas, who will be involved in all aspects of planning and executing the production of our wide range of weapon systems, from tactical missiles to strategic defense products. You will provide technical knowledge & process capability expertise to improve supplier performance. You will be involved in all phases of product life cycles, beginning with proposal development, new product development, advanced manufacturing initiatives and continuing through production implementation. You will ensure technical data packages are complete and accurate and that the supplier technical performance meets the objectives of quality, cost and schedule. You will drive Raytheon design requirements to improve manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers. You will initiate continuous and measurable design and process improvement of supplier hardware for affordability.
This position is hybrid and based out of Camden, AR, to audit/visit suppliers (Energetics & Propulsion Commodities) in the vicinity. This position requires a home office be maintained. Relocation assistance is not provided.
What You Will Do:
Communicate and translate technical data packages to suppliers
Conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity and risk
Perform technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis
Manage supplier requests for product and process changes
Manage product non-conformances
Drive root cause and corrective action
Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities
Communicate the technical health of our suppliers to stakeholders
Support travel as needed (approx. 25-30%)
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience in manufacturing engineering or engineering discipline in a factory environment
Project or program team management experience
Working in a matrixed or cross-functional team environment
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

What You'll Do

**Roles and Responsibilities**
+ Collaborate with GE Research Center and Engineering Material Systems to identify new material technology opportunities that reduce or eliminate GE Aerospace reliance on rare earths and other critical minerals, with a focus in coatings and/or metallic alloys
+ Lead cross-functional engineering and research teams to execute on MRL/TRL programs
+ Provide technical responses and presentations to internal and external customer RFIs and funding opportunities
+ Participate in US government and industry technical forums, conferences, and committees related to critical minerals
+ Assist in vetting new critical mineral sources and technology; visit with and provide technical assessment of the technology and operations for new critical mineral mines, processing facilities, refineries and labs
+ Consult with MAE and design hardware owners to identify and execute on material specification updates and design changes
+ Requires specialized knowledge within material coatings or metallic alloys, and/or, understanding of mineral processing (mining, refining, processing)
+ Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
+ Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. **Pay and Benefits:**
+ The salary range for this position is $ 150,000.00 - 200,000.00. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. Radar Systems Field Engineering will be staffing a Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) THAAD Systems Engineer in support of the THAAD KSA Program. The THAAD Systems Engineer will support a deployed Field Engineering team supporting the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Radar System.
ACTIVE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED and will require a US Expat to forward deploy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) under the terms of a Long-Term International Assignment Memorandum of Understanding (LTIA MOU).
What You Will Do:
Prior to deployment, the Systems Engineer will be assigned to El Paso, TX where they will receive the appropriate amount of AN/TPY-2 systems classroom and/or on the job training (OJT) based on the experience level of the selected candidate. Once complete, the THAAD Systems Engineer will support testing and integration efforts at either White Sands Missile Range, NM or Pelham, NH. Also, the Systems Engineer may and will likely provide backfill support for other personnel assigned to deployed THAAD KSA Radars OCONUS with little notice.
Once deployed, the CLS Systems Engineer will support a Radar team consisting of three Field Engineers assigned to the radar system. Responsibilities include:
Troubleshooting and resolving radar system anomalies (e.g. REX, BSG, Antenna/Sub-Array/TRIMMs) using engineering test methodologies and software tools.
Interpreting diagnostics and satellite tracks to assess overall health of the radar as well as assist in providing weekly reports on the status of engineering.
Executing data archival and assisting in software installation; complying with all QA and ALCS reporting requirements associated with providing accurate and complete data.
Providing support for configuration management of hardware and software; and leading troubleshooting efforts as needed or directed by CLS Manager.
Reviewing all ALCS program data to ensure that all required data has been entered to include ITR's, calibration records, PMCS, and contains sufficient information for Failure Review Board evaluations.
In summary, the Radar Systems Engineer is responsible for the health and status of the radar.
