The Field Inventory Specialist monitors and maintains inventory levels at assigned customer location(s) utilizing Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) software. Performs periodic reviews of product lot and shelf-life information to ensure proper inventory rotation using First In, First Out (FIFO) and scrap mitigation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately performs inventory transactions for lot controlled and non-lot-controlled inventory following FIFO methods while understanding the difference between Manufacturer and internal lot numbers
Validates inbound shipment against pack slip and open receipt. Completes processing of receipt VMI and performs put away in designated customer inventory storage locations
Reviews shelf life reports and communicates potential issues with team members and/or customers. Scraps material out when appropriate and follows customer specified disposal procedures
Performs and reconciles cycle counts to compare VMI inventory to actual inventory on hand
Proactively seeks out and interacts with key customer contacts to understand demand fluctuations and potential impact on inventory levels. Identifies and troubleshoots onsite issues and works collaboratively to resolve, escalating when necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of related industrial experience and/or training
High school diploma or equivalency (GED, HSED)
Must work well independently and manage own time effectively
Ability to work between 8:00am - 5:00pm (10 hours/week)
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate at various levels internally and externally

Purpose
To carry out tasks related to the move of library materials (trays of books, boxes of paper, oversized bound newspapers, etc.) from one warehouse space to another warehouse space at the Collections Preservation and Research Complex (CPRC) at the University of Texas Pickle Research Campus in North Austin.
Selected applicant must complete OSHA certification training within first week of employment. Training hours may be different than regular work hours, to be arranged.
Responsibilities
Operate order picker to retrieve and re-shelve library materials in storage areas (OSHA certification training provided).
Physically transport library materials from one storage area to another, using wheeled carts, pallet jacks, etc.
Update location information for all moved items in inventory system application using laptop or tablet. Also, record location information in paper log, as needed.
Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Ability to follow directions closely.
Ability to perform repetitive work while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to perform data entry tasks using a laptop or tablet.
Ability to maintain regular work schedule and to meet deadlines.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Two years of work experience.
Warehouse work experience.
Direct experience related to job functions.
Demonstrated evidence of motivation and initiative.
Strong organizational skills.
Salary Range
$31,200
Working Conditions
Work takes place in warehouse conditions.
Work at a height of up to 30 feet on order picker.
Use of a laptop or tablet for data entry.
Lifting and moving up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, walking, standing.
May work in extreme temperatures (warehouse is 55 degrees F).
Possible exposure to dust and mold.
May work around mechanical hazards.

Primary Purpose:
Responsible for sourcing and managing the department's inventory and supplies necessary to support warehouse operations and district/department needs., ordering and supplying necessary items so that the district is kept in a condition of operating readiness.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
* Maintain an inventory system for new, surplus and attic stock stored in warehouse locations and assist with replenishment planning
* Maintain proper inventory levels and accurate records for warehouse items.
* Identify slow-moving, obsolete or discontinued items and recommend adjustments to ordering practices.
* Monitor and manage open purchase orders with district vendors.
* Coordinate with warehouse team to verify received goods, resolve order discrepancies and ensure accurate documentation
* Obtain competitive quotes for materials, equipment and supplies in support of requisition requests and work orders.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation of all procurements for audits.
* Assist Supervisors with special parts procurement.
* Maintain positive working relationships with vendors, ensuring clear communication regarding orders, lead times, pricing and service expectations.
* Oversee equipment and or tool checkout for items under warehouse responsibility.
* Maintain fuel supply for Central Maintenance facility by monitoring and ordering from transportation.
* Operate forklift when necessary.
* Work closely with internal departments, cross-functional teams and leadership to understand purchasing needs and expectations.
* Contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy and customer service.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
