D&E Drivability & Emissions Calibration Engineer
The Calibration Engineer is responsible for developing the optimal engine calibration to meet drivability metrics along with ensuring optimal emissions and fuel economy. The engineer is responsible for the calibration maturity and development of sub features resulting in an overall optimal propulsion system. This spans the entirety of the lifecycle of development through conceptual phase, strategy development, calibration execution to subsystem and vehicle level validation including robustness evaluations. The responsibilities will be carried out across all different types of propulsion system concepts and will include varying levels of electrification. The work will coincide with a team of calibration engineers and functions to deliver system level functional objectives mainly related to emissions compliance.
The engineer will plan and coordinate daily activities of propulsion dynos and vehicle related testing which may include collaboration with technicians and laboratory support engineers. In addition, test plans and timelines will be developed and executed with reports generated to communicate status of the program to larger development and management teams.
Basic Requirements
Obtained a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited University
Demonstrated 3 or more years of work experience in the area of spark ignition engine controls and calibration
Strong familiarities related to engine system development including related technologies and subsystems such as combustion, valvetrain, fuel system, boost systems, EGR systems, aftertreatment systems, controls and its algorithm including diagnostics
Feature calibration experience with exposure to optimizing drivability, emissions, and fuel economy

Transmission On -Board Diagnostic (OBD) Calibration Engineer has the opportunity to develop diagnostic calibrations that meet all regulatory, safety, quality and service requirements. They have the responsibility to assure that appropriate testing is defined, planned, and completed to fully validate all diagnostic features. They also serve as the leader for cross -functional teams to determine root cause and solutions for development, fast feedback, and customer vehicle diagnostic issues. They will work with a variety of conventional and electrified transmissions that require a diverse set of technical skills to effectively lead their assigned programs. They will guide instrumentation of electrical and physical systems, utilize and review data from acquisition software (INCA) to ensure that desired diagnostic behavior is achieved. The engineer will gather functional requirements as well as required milestones to plan and execute development to achieve on -time successful product launches.
