Job Description

Responsibilities
Complete quality tests of magnet wire for quality specifications and research and development projects.
Conduct testing on quality assurance and experimental runs, and handle action requests and sample orders.
Assist in preparing magnet wire enamels, thinners, and lubricants.
Perform inspection and analysis of raw materials and chemical products to ensure they meet specifications.
Conduct a range of complex tests with attention to detail.
Read, understand, and utilize detailed instructions; perform testing; enter data; and prepare reports or charts to present test results.
Use chemical testing equipment and measuring instruments.
Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and management to analyze and resolve issues.
Utilize computer programs, quality systems, and tools as part of the quality management system.
Follow all procedures and guidelines to meet quality, safety, and production goals.
Enter records or write reports for company documentation.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers to maintain positive working relationships.
Essential Skills
High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree in a scientific field preferred.
1+ year of GMP experience.
1+ year of experience in quality and quality control lab tech roles.
1+ year of experience with basic laboratory techniques.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in computer usage and knowledge of Quality Systems (ISO/QS/TS).
High attention to detail, organization, and above-average mechanical skills.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Pay Rate: 84,000.00 - 105,000.00 - 126,000.00 Annually
Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on geographic location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and candidate experience. Sales roles will be eligible for commission payments tied to quota achievement. All other permanent roles will be eligible for one of our annual incentive plans, which are based on company financial attainment and individual performance.

On -Call or Special Requirements
Responsibilities of the physician assistant to be available after hours or on weekends will vary by physician and circumstance. A physician assistant may be requested and/or required to attend sports physicals, sporting events or clinic coverage on nights or weekends at the discretion of their attending physician.
A physician assistant may also be required to remain available or called to assist their attending physician for hospital call responsibilities.
A physician assistant may on occasion be requested to assist the attending physician by triaging, evaluating or assist in management of an emergency department patient or after hour call from a patient of the practice. It is expected that this type of special requirement would not be a routine clinical practice.
A physician assistant may be requested to be an informal educator or formal clinical preceptor for a number of various students ranging from ATC students, physician assistant students and fellows.

This role:
The Research Associate II role is responsible for independently managing analytical method development, validation and transfer projects for internal and external clients. They are also responsible for supporting formulation development projects for internal or external clients. This role reports to the Research Scientist II and is 100% onsite at the Bloomington, Indiana facility.
The responsibilities:
Independently plan and execute a series of design and/or technical projects (small and large molecules) that may or may not be well-defined, have multiple variables, and require advanced techniques within negotiated deadlines from early pre-formulation/formulation development to technical transfer of established formulations and processes in manufacturing operations
Lead the evaluation, selection, and adaptation of new technologies and techniques to accomplish business objectives, such as quality and cycle-time
May provide training to other employees within the department or plant
Routinely provide advice and assistance to team members regarding unique problems
Provide responsive customer service to external customers and internal project managers
Support department Enterprise Management System (EMS) and Quality Assurance initiatives
Devise new approaches to complex formulation and process development problems through adaptations and modifications of standard technical principles and incorporate new methods and technologies for improving existing or new products/processes
Maintain current knowledge of relevant quality and regulatory requirements related to R&D (product development, design and safety) to ensure compliance in all research, data collection and reporting activities
Develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and related regulations and guidance
Act as an Analytical Instrument Subject Matter Expert and support instrument validations and/or periodic review validations
Contribute to technical feasibility analysis of complex research and analytical method concepts
Evaluate results relative to product requirements, definitions and/or program goals
Required qualifications:
BS degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science or related scientific discipline required
2+ years of laboratory experience (MS or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or related scientific discipline in lieu of laboratory experience)
Expertise in fundamentals of freeze-drying, including characterization of formulations intended to be freeze-dried and characterization of lyophilized solids
Experience in chromatography, spectroscopy and other analytical methods (i.e. HPLC, CE, ELISA, UV, FTIR, etc.)
Good scientific technique in a corporate laboratory setting
Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact with external and internal stakeholders
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Experience with following software and/or programs: Minitab, JMP, or Python
Knowledge and/or ability to use Enterprise software (i.e., JDE, Veeva, Trackwise, etc.)
Physical / safety requirements:

Indianapolis Zoo Chimpanzee Behavior Research Internship - Summer 2026 The Zoo's Internship Program offers a unique opportunity for college students to become actively involved in the Zoo's conservation, research, education and recreation efforts. Interns can enhance their knowledge and experience in various administrative, animal care and education roles.
Internship Structure and Schedule:
2026 Summer Internships at the Indianapolis Zoo will last for 12 weeks and take place from mid-May to mid-August. Interns will be paid and scheduled to work 30 hours per week. Start and end dates of internships can be determined by the student and the Zoo department, but students must be available throughout the months of June and July.
Internship Project:
Interns will be expected to complete a project in support of the mission of the Indianapolis Zoo that spans the 12-week internship. Internship projects will be supported by a mentor within the Zoo department. Interns will be required to share the results and outcomes of their project publicly to Zoo Staff at the end of the Summer.
2026 Chimpanzee Behavior Internship Project:
* Chimpanzee Behavior Observation Program Summer Lead
* Each summer the Zoo recruits 8-12 volunteers to observe and record chimpanzee behavior on iPads. The data they collect has a practical benefit to the zoo in terms of evaluating chimpanzee usage of habitat areas and features, as well as scientific benefits in terms of better understanding chimpanzee behaviors and social relationships. The Research intern will help to oversee the logistics of summer program, including setting up schedules and overseeing training, as well as play a role in data analysis.
Experience Required
Participants in the Internship Program must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program. We are unable to accept recent graduates.
