Join a collaborative team of researchers and engineers dedicated to unlocking insights from substantial volumes of structured, unstructured, transactional, and real-time data. **Your Impact**
As an AI Research Intern, you will contribute to sophisticated research in large language models (LLMs), natural language processing (NLP), and multimodal deep learning. Working with senior researchers and cross-functional teams, you'll help build, implement, and evaluate machine learning models and algorithms. You'll participate in data collection, preprocessing, and analysis, and assist in developing and fine-tuning AI models for a variety of applications. Responsibilities
The Research Technician II position conducts laboratory experiments and contributes to scientific studies through independent execution of protocols, data collection, and analysis. Duties include:
Independently initiate and execute experimental protocols using established and modified Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring accurate and complete laboratory records.
Perform blood and cell processing using sterile techniques.
Conduct short in vitro cultures or stimulations of cells.
Prepare samples for flow cytometry, genomic analysis, or other assays with proper quality controls.
Perform immune-related assays such as ELISA and qPCR.
Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain a range of laboratory instruments including flow and mass cytometers and sorters, PCR machines, cell counters, and other analytical devices.

Engage with senior scientists to refine experimental approaches and align technical execution with project goals.
Support laboratory operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, reagent preparation, and routine maintenance of shared equipment.
Support core users and collaborating teams, providing technical guidance, coordinating sample intake schedules, and advising on best practices.
Train and mentor lab aides and junior technicians in laboratory techniques, workflows, and core practices.

Qualifications
Requires a BA/BS in a scientific field and a minimum of 2-3 years of progressively responsible work experience in a scientific research laboratory. Prior experience involving sterile technique, mammalian tissue culture, and/or multiparameter flow cytometry required. Must have basic mathematical, data recording, and statistical analysis skills. Must be comfortable working with potentially hazardous materials and human samples (e.g., blood).
A successful candidate would be eager to learn and grow within the role, be willing to take on challenges and persevere through troubleshooting, be proactive in seeking help and asking questions, have strong attention to detail and documentation skills, have an ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently, and have excellent communication skills for presenting findings and collaborating with team members.

* Exempt employees participate in Cisco's flexible vacation time off program, which has no defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use (subject to availability and some business limitations)
* 80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, and up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward from one calendar year to the next
* Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members
* Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer
For non-sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco's policies.
Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
* .75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
* 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
* 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and
* Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.

Minimum Qualifications
* Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a Ph.D. degree in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
* Research experience in one or more of the following aspects of Image Sensors: Device physics and fabrication, Analog/mixed signal circuit design, Imaging systems (camera, ISP, algorithm)
* Experience with analog/mixed-signal circuit design CAD tools such as Cadence Virtuoso
* Successful tape-out and hands-on bench testing experience
* Simulation and modeling experience with scripting languages such as Python, Matlab
* Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Preferred Qualifications
* 3+ years of experience in circuit design
* Tape out experience with advanced technology nodes
* Image signal processing experience (noise reduction, HDR processing)
* Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by grants, or fellowships, as well as first-authored publications in major conferences and journals such as IISW, IEDM, VLSI, ISSCC, JSSC, TED
Responsibilities
* Investigate and propose novel pixel architectures and sensor architectures
* Perform pixel schematic/layout design and simulation in advanced process nodes
* Architect and design readout and processing circuits to achieve ultra-low power consumption
* Characterize image sensors and experiment with new image sensor operation schemes
* Collaboration with and support of other researchers across various disciplines
* Communication of research agenda, progress and results
