The EH&S Professional II will provide both leadership and tactical support to the Environmental, Health and Safety programs at the Columbus manufacturing location. With strategic guidance from both the central EHS function and local plant manager, this hands-on leadership position will ensure local legislative compliance, develop and maintain ISO systems, develop an autonomous EHS culture, promote defined Health and Wellness programs, define EHS standard operating procedures, provide EHS training, develop risk identification and reduction awareness and methods, all achieved through participation and employee engagement
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)
Identify and champion impactful initiatives seeking continuous improvement in safety performance and environmental compliance
Establish a site high consequence program to manage severe incidents with fatality (SIF) and ensure flawless execution of site life critical programs
Gauge and correct the execution of site EHS programs through inspections, audits, SMATs, cold-eye reviews
Coach, mentor, and support the development and guidance of line management on EHS topics
Proactively drive awareness and communicates best practices related to Safety, Health and Environment, promoting an autonomous EHS culture
As required, meet with regulatory agencies
Partner with other key EHS team members during routine calls
Oversee the filing of all internal, corporate, and required government reporting relating to regulatory compliance
Maintains an EHS compliance calendar, audits compliance system routinely, and ensure compliance gaps are corrective
Maintain site required ISO certifications
Ensure compliance with site permits and plans (indirect discharge, SPCC, SWPPP, Air)
Manage and ensure compliance with the waste management program (hazardous, non-hazardous, and universal)
Become a technical expert on site process technologies
Help operations navigate complex regulations and company standards.
Establish both a short term and long term EHS strategy for the site in conjunction with guidance from the Plant Manager and CCC/Chemviron Center of Excellence
This EHS strategy shall be monitored as a KPI across the site and the incumbent will establish accountability channels to ensure that all levels of the organization delivers EHS results
This individual shall also participate and lead cultural transformation across the site to achieve sustainable results
Work closely with the Regional Center of Excellence leaders to verify quality of programs and processes via audit and self-assessment tools
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.), or equivalent from four-year college or university is required (preferably in an Environmental Management discipline, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering)
A master's degree or equivalent is preferred
3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required
3-5 years of working knowledge and expertise in Environmental regulations and maintaining compliance with pertinent regulations is required
3-5 years of strong EHS and in OSHA/EPA regulations and reporting experience is required

THE POSITION: Canyon State Electric is seeking a dedicated Site Safety Specialist to ensure that all health and safety programs are adhered to on assigned construction projects. This role focuses on conducting daily site safety inspections, providing training, enforcing safety standards, and maintaining a safe working environment for all project personnel. The successful candidate will serve as an advisor to field leadership, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and Canyon State Electric's safety policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform daily site safety inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Actively participate in project handoff processes, including preparing project sites for safe operations.
Communicate and document inspection findings, including recommending corrective action plans (CAPs) as necessary.
Ensure assigned project sites are fully equipped with required safety apparatus, PPE, first aid supplies, and other safety resources.
Provide consultation and advice to field leadership to help maintain a safe working environment in compliance with safety regulations, practices, and standards.
Train and certify project personnel on the proper use of various equipment.
Enforce and implement Canyon State Electric's Safety Policies and Procedures.
Report all incidents, regardless of severity, using provided software and notify the Field Safety Manager and Safety Director of all incidents in a timely manner.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with employees, trade contractors, general contractors, government agents, and other stakeholders to create a culture of safety and trust.
QUALIFICATIONS:
In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1926).
Ability to create, file, and maintain documentation for personnel and company safety records.
Proficient in utilizing web-based and database safety and training programs.
Skilled in writing professional internal and external correspondence.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration.
Professional and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Flexibility and adaptability to respond to sudden demands or changes in the work environment.
Ability to present and train both large and small groups on safety topics regularly.
OSHA 510 certified.

Must meet NFPA 70e - Electrical Safety Qualified Person criteria.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Specific Description

Qualifications
2 - 4 years of professional experience in safety; experience with management systems or a Certified Safety Professional designation preferred.
Minimum of 2 years in a management role.
Strong knowledge of safety best practices, including HACCP, OSHA 10 General Industry, and ServSafe certification.
Ability to build and maintain effective client relationships and deliver exceptional customer service.
Strong collaboration skills to ensure a unified food service experience across departments.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Daily ActivitiesPromote and develop safe work behaviors. Assist and coach associates to reduce injuries and accidents.
Plan, administer and support ongoing safety programs to ensure compliance.

Keep current with regulations concerning DOT, OSHA, and NFPA 70E.

JOB FUNCTION:
The EHS Safety & Training Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, administering, delivering, and continuously improving MPW's Environmental, Health, Safety, and Training programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Training & Development

· Monitor training completion, compliance gaps, and trends; communicate findings to EHS leadership and operations.
EHS Program Support
· Conduct periodic field audits and site visits to assess training effectiveness and compliance needs.
· Support EHS inspections, incident investigations, and corrective action tracking as needed.
· Assist with EHS reporting, data analysis, and metrics development.
· Serve as a resource to MPW employees and leaders regarding EHS and training requirements.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Performance of the job responsibilities will require the ability to (1) use tools and operate equipment in the field, (2) ascend/descend both exterior and interior ladders/stairs, and (3) move safely around an area under construction. The employee must also be able to easily communicate with clients, stakeholders, and other employees and observe various pieces of equipment in the field. The employee must occasionally move and/or transport up to 75 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works at the construction work site where the employee where risk of moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud. Personal protection equipment and required safety training will be provided by the employer.

Overview

Duties/Responsibilities:
Conducts orientation activities such as completing and checking paperwork on new hires, validating required experience and licensure, and collecting I-9 documentation
Investigate incidents, injuries, damage to property, or other safety-related concerns.
Completes incident reports, OSHA-required documentation, and other client reports.
Critically assesses and evaluates hazards and takes corrective actions at the moment.
Documents findings, including Root Cause Analysis
Communicate with leadership and field personnel the investigation findings and recommendations for how to prevent reoccurrences.
Verifies corrective measures have been completed (including recommendations of the safety committee, leaders, and those that arise from the suggestion programs)
Enforces safety standards, conducts safety audits, participates in client safety meetings or conference calls; conveys information from specific clients about their specific safety requirements on a specific job site or client's work
Coordinates with others to enforce work procedures, rules, and regulations related to safety

Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety preferred or equivalent experience

Certification as CUSP, CSP preferred
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

Qualifications and Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent with additional specialized/technical training or some college courses required; Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field preferred
More than one year of experience with an Associate's Degree in Occupational Safety; five to eight years of experience required; Experience in a technical or other appropriate occupation-related field may substitute for education
Track record the reducing site incident rates and communicating safety awareness principles
Strong working knowledge of 29 CFR Part 1910 and 1926, including program-specific requirements to include, but not limited to, respirator, confined space, electrical, fall protection, hazard communication, and lockout out tagout
General knowledge of 30 CFR parts 46/47/48/62 & 77
Knowledge of Titles 40 & 49 CFR requirements

Essential Functions:
Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values-Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
Provides on-site inspections in shop and field environments that include auditing facilities, job sites, and implements hazard corrective actions; provides follow-up on hazard corrective actions
Reviews and reports on audit results, writes safety regulation procedures, updates programs, and tracks hazard corrective actions to completion
Represents the organization during visits with external and internal customers in a variety of meetings to include customer sites and supporting customer audits
Provides training modules and facilitates on-site training to technicians and management; ensures follow-up on training updates/changes in the work workplace environment
Performs investigative, root cause analysis (RCA), and reports results to appropriate internal/external customers
Provides training modules and facilitates face-to-face training to technicians and management, and ensures follow-up on training updates/changes in the work environment
Represents the organization to external regulatory agencies (federal, state, and local) and provides supporting regulatory inspections to the appropriate agency
Compiles data and information for the analysis of hazard and safety incident trends and helps prepare recommendations for new or modified safety initiatives to reduce or prevent accidents
Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
Performs other duties as assigned

Travel:
Travel up to 15% with some overnight stay, but not limited to twice per month
Valid driver's license required; commercial driver's license preferred
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
Occasionally moves materials and/or equipment weighing up to 40 pounds
Hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity are essential to operate a motor vehicle, audio-visual equipment, safety testing equipment, computer keyboard, and basic office equipment
Ascends/descends with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet, and climbs up and down ladders
Ability to maneuver safely and work underneath equipment
Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, lifting, climbing, squatting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions
Work Environment:
Regularly works indoors and occasionally outdoors
May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
Noise level may be loud at times.
Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, steam, and high-pressure water, high-speed rotating equipment, and contaminants

Job Summary: The Regional Safety Representative is responsible for accident prevention through intervention and education, inspecting company facilities, and recommending and implementing corrective actions or additional precautions to ensure compliance with established regulations. The Representative will influence incident rates of assigned facilities through auditing and investigating processes in the work environment. In addition, the Representative will communicate regulatory & company expectations, implement programs, and procedures on a regional basis.
