Support the preparation of water, surface water and wastewater utility studies, evaluations, engineering reports, and comprehensive plans. Utilize engineering software modeling and analysis tools. Research Departments of Health and Ecology regulations and available infrastructure technologies and products used in the construction of water, surface water and wastewater facilities. Perform field work that might include technology pilot testing or construction observation. SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS Assists with development of project proposals. Performs other duties as needed and/ or assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering, or related, Undergraduate or Graduate program Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required. Experience with Hydraulic modeling products (Innovyze, Bentley and/or Visual Hydraulics) preferred. Completed course work in fluid dynamics, water/wastewater treatment, hydrology, and water chemistry preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Strong time management and organizational skills. Must be able to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing). Must be able to work closely and coordinate with project team members while also working independently and taking responsibility for work performed. The intern is expected to work five days a week, Monday through Friday, for a total of 35 hours/week. The position will be predominantly in-person with some flexibility for remote work.
