About The Role We are seeking passionate Environmental Planners/ Project Managers to join our award-winning team. How We Collaborate This role may offer a hybrid work setup, blending time in the office with remote work as business needs evolve. We enjoy coming together in person to collaborate, connect with teammates, and partner with clients, and may prioritize candidates who live within 50 miles of a Rincon office. Eligible office locations for this role include Carlsbad, Fresno, Los Angeles, Monterey, Oakland, Palm Springs, Riverside, Sacramento, San Luis Obispo, San Diego, San Jose, Santa Barbara, and Ventura. What You'll Do Write and manage the preparation of CEQA and NEPA documents. Coordinate with subject matter experts across disciplines to ensure high quality analysis, adherence to schedules and budgets, and compliance with CEQA and NEPA process requirements. Train and mentor junior staff on CEQA and NEPA and other planning/environmental disciplines. Engage with clients, including responsive and clear communication. Assist in preparing public presentations to agency decision-making bodies. Perform agency consultation and ensure environmental regulatory compliance. Demonstrate confidence in decision-making and be recognized by clients and peers as having expertise in CEQA and NEPA and related technical areas. Support business development, including proposal preparation. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or a related field; an advanced degree is strongly preferred. Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in California, with environmental consulting experience preferred. Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex information to diverse audiences. Proven ability to collaborate effectively within large, multidisciplinary teams while building strong working relationships. Demonstrated experience managing project schedules and budgets with a high level of organization and accountability. Willingness and ability to travel as required to support project needs. Proactive, results-driven problem solving with strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities. *More senior professionals (e.g., 10-15+ years) are also strongly encouraged to apply. Responsibilities and salary will adjust accordingly, with senior-level pay exceeding the posted range. Investing In You The base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000-$126,000, plus a generous benefits program. Salary ranges are based on the market median of similar jobs, according to third-party salary benchmark surveys. Base pay is determined based on internal equity and a candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role blends environmental planning expertise with project leadership in support of renewable energy infrastructure projects, including utility-scale solar, wind, and battery storage. We're looking for a skilled environmental planner who can lead a project team and guide projects through California environmental permitting processes-from constraints analysis and scoping through project entitlement and permitting. This role will be responsible for managing and preparing discretionary land use permit applications and CEQA/NEPA documents and coordinating with technical experts to deliver high-quality environmental studies and permits.     APTIM Federal Services is currently seeking a Sr. Level Environmental Geologist to support the increasing growth of project work within our Remediation business line. The preferred candidate would be a credentialled professional geologist or hydrogeologist with proven experience supporting characterization and remediation projects in a senior technical role. Primary responsibilities will include the planning and implementation of remedial investigations, remedial actions, and optimizing existing remedies. Other responsibilities will include preparation of proposals and work plans, overseeing and mentoring project staff, and completion of CERCLA reports. The successful candidate will possess the ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both written and verbally, to all project team members including client representatives, government regulators, and APTIM colleagues alike. Strong people skills with a collaborative demeanor are a must. This position will be based out of our Concord, CA office. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Applies technical expertise to improve project and proposal effectiveness from a technical, quality and safety perspective. Characterize the geologic conditions, hydrologic character, contaminant types and distribution to evaluate risks and provide input for the design and optimization of appropriate remedial measures. Design and execute hydrologic testing to define the character of groundwater aquifers and the fate and transport of contaminants (where present). Support project planning and execution in accordance with established policies, procedures, and requirements including Federal and State regulations. Communicate field results and recommended course of action to project managers, client representatives and regulatory personnel. Serve as a mentor to junior and mid-level staff, work collaboratively in a team environment. Maintain strict adherence to company safety and quality programs. Basic Qualifications: Possess a Bachelors' degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science or related discipline. 10 to 15 years of experience in the environmental field. Possess 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with current 8-hour refresher certificate preferred. Position Details: Possess knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regarding handling of acutely hazardous materials and general industrial safety Develop plans and programs for compliance with state and federal hazardous materials and hazardous waste programs including SPCCs, business plans, inspection and training Write safety programs including lockout/tagout, hot work, permit program, contractor safety, training, etc. Possess knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems and ability to quickly understand design and operation of other highly hazardous chemical processes Possess knowledge of CalARP, Risk Management Programs and Process Safety Management Regulations Organize and facilitate Process Hazard Analysis meetings Read and understand Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams for process systems containing acutely hazardous materials Ability to understand and perform Offsite Consequence Analysis Write CalARP/RMP/PSM Programs Must have a succinct technical writing style Work effectively with others, including Condor staff and external project teams Promote Condor and bring in work in the Industrial Compliance field Represent Condor in a positive manner to clients and potential clients Assess client needs, bid client jobs and set client expectations Manage project tasks efficiently, within budget and on time Ability to develop opportunities and perform work in other areas of industrial compliance desired Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite applications. Ability to use macros in Excel a plus Qualifications Three + years of relevant experience required Experience managing CalARP, RPM, PSM programs for industry, government, as a regulator, or as a consultant preferred Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Physical Sciences, Engineering, or Environmental Health and Safety discipline Registration/Certification in Engineering, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, or Registered Environmental Assessor preferred Any of the following training/certification is a plus: AiChe Process Hazard Analysis training (or equivalent); OSHA 10/30 hour general industry trainer certification; First Responder (Operations or Industrial Technician); CARO/CIRO Condor Benefits Include: Robust benefit package which includes medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA and life insurance - with employer paid premiums for covered employee Vacation, sick leave and paid holidays Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) 401k plan with company match
