This is a remote position, ideally with someone based in Orange County (Irvine, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Santa Ana, Anaheim, Orange, Huntington Beach, and Fullerton).
Job Overview:
Under general supervision, this position will be part of the Claims Legal team, which will provide settlement authority and general strategic support for claims/exposures that exceed the line unit s authority. The position encompasses a variety of responsibilities that include the analysis of unique jurisdictional concerns and ensuring consistency in claims positions. Overall, this position will assist in consulting on complex claim files that are reported to Claims Legal.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for consultation with claims staff in a variety of claims issues, including but not limited to, coverage, indemnification, policy limit demand reviews, indemnity agreement review, release language review.
Identifies coverage issues which require assignment to outside counsel and works with outside counsel as needed.
Directly handle some policyholder suits against the company and work with outside counsel in managing the litigation. Will need to attend mediations as needed.
Assists in training to claims staff on various jurisdictional issues and/or Fair Claims Practices training.
Respond to insurance claims questions from a variety of departments.
Works closely as part of the Claims Legal team in providing outstanding service to claims staff.
Responsible for tracking claim files reported to Claims Legal ability to stay organized, and diary cases for future follow-up.
Participate in roundtable discussions on a variety of claims topics, including trial authority, and taking the lead on future follow-up of action items.
Will work collaboratively with current Panel Counsel to ensure consistency of service to CIG insureds. May also participate and/or take the lead in identifying new firms to join Panel list.
Work with Analyst in Claims Legal in ensuring consistency of Reinsurance reporting as required.
Ability to analyze complex insurance claims situations and develop recommendations to be shared with claims staff.
Ability to handle conflicting requests from multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment while paying attention to detail.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Ability to interface with multiple levels of the organization.
Ability to travel (
Ability to stay organized and manage time effectively in order to manage competing priorities.
Have effective research skills and ability to stay current with changes in case law and regulatory changes.

Salary Range: $107,669 - $177,654
The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. GEICO is looking to hire Counsel to defend lawsuits filed in Texas courts and other first party insurance defense. The position is with GEICO Staff Counsel located in San Antonio, Texas.
Job duties and responsibilities:
· Researching laws and preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
· Rendering opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department
· Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, to include depositions/examinations before trial and examinations under oath, and defending by trial or dispositive hearing, all matters assigned, as applicable
Qualifications:
· 7-9+ years in related field litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury REQUIRED
· Juris Doctor degree REQUIRED
· Admission to the Texas Bar REQUIRED
· Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in Texas and meet and maintain licensing requirements including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements where applicable
· Must be able to travel as required, including but not limited, to attend trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings and conferences
· Must be able to document files in a clear, concise, professional written manner, to be understood by customers, clients, co-workers and other employees of the organization
· Must be able to follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts or facilitate conflict resolution, and have strong organization/priority setting and multi-tasking skills
· Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information
Preferred Qualifications:
· Civil litigation experience
· Insurance defense-related litigation experience
· Must be able to communicate in a professional manner in person, via telephone and written correspondence/email

Annual Salary
$118,900.00 - $185,525.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.

Job Overview:
Under general supervision, this position will be part of the Claims Legal team, which will provide settlement authority and general strategic support for claims/exposures that exceed the line unit s authority. Responsibilities:
Responsible for consultation with claims staff in a variety of claims issues, including but not limited to, coverage, indemnification, policy limit demand reviews, indemnity agreement review, release language review.
Identifies coverage issues which require assignment to outside counsel and works with outside counsel as needed.
Directly handle some policyholder suits against the company and work with outside counsel in managing the litigation. Will need to attend mediations as needed.
Assists in training to claims staff on various jurisdictional issues and/or Fair Claims Practices training.
Respond to insurance claims questions from a variety of departments.
Works closely as part of the Claims Legal team in providing outstanding service to claims staff.
Responsible for tracking claim files reported to Claims Legal ability to stay organized, and diary cases for future follow-up.
Participate in roundtable discussions on a variety of claims topics, including trial authority, and taking the lead on future follow-up of action items.
Will work collaboratively with current Panel Counsel to ensure consistency of service to CIG insureds. May also participate and/or take the lead in identifying new firms to join Panel list.
Work with Analyst in Claims Legal in ensuring consistency of Reinsurance reporting as required.
Ability to analyze complex insurance claims situations and develop recommendations to be shared with claims staff.

What will you do in this role?
We are seeking a Behavioral AI Specialist to enhance our innovation capabilities. This position is ideal for a data-driven professional, passionate about AI and Behavioral Economics and technologies, who embodies our cultural principles: curiosity and innovation, critical thinking, simplification, integrity (respect, honesty, reliability), resilience and bias for action.
The main responsibilities of this role are:
* Execution and coordination of PoCs, corporate pilots, and support for the deployment of AI-based solutions.
* Monitoring new trends, experimenting, and testing innovative technologies.
* Expert support in scouting and technical due diligence of AI startups (venture perspective).
* Support for non-technical project tasks (e.g., business workshops, business cases, documentation, reports and presentations, ideation, …).
What are we looking for?
Essential Requirements:
* Degree in STEM.
* Advanced level in Python.
* Experience with both structured and unstructured databases, as well as designing and deploying ML algorithms based on Behavioral Economics principles.
* Experience working within cloud ecosystems (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google, …).
* C1 level in English (mandatory) and Spanish.
* At least 5 years of experience in data projects.
* Proficiency in visualization tools (preferably Power BI).
Desirable Requirements:
* Experience in consulting is highly valued.
* Specific industry knowledge (Financial and/or Insurance).
* Master's degree in Science (MSc), Behavioral Economics, or MBA.
* Knowledge in PySpark and SQL.
* Knowledge of Brazilian Portuguese.

This role provides direct support to pregnant and postpartum women and their children living in recovery housing with the goal of maintaining family unity and creating a supportive recovery environment. The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic and committed to helping women achieve long-term recovery.
This is a part-time role working 2nd shift Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and every other Saturday. Estimated hours are 20-25 per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide care and support to women and children living in recovery housing
Support and engage clients in healthy routines and recovery-focused activities
Observe and document client behavior, reporting concerns to clinical staff as needed
Assist with coordination of care as needed
Monitor client schedules and activities
Assist women working through crisis situations
Perform administrative office tasks
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Reliable transportation
Experience working with pregnant women and women with young children is preferred
Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment or related field is preferred, but not required (on-the-job training provided)
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and adhere to confidentiality regulations
Capable of strict adherence to policies and procedures
Ability to treat clients with dignity and respect
Competently communicates effectively verbally and in writing
Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications, including Office Suite, Outlook and Teams
Adept at learning and navigating electronic health record systems
Ability to pass background checks and drug screen as required by federal and state regulations
