Preparing examination rooms for patient examinations. Administering radiopharmaceuticals to obtain clear, usable images. Positioning patients and equipment, explaining the procedures, and ensuring patients' comfort. Evaluates the quality of images to minimize repeat visits due to technical errors. * The MRI technologist has the knowledge and skills necessary to operate the supportive Equipment associated with MRI procedures. * Appropriately applies the various associated with MRI coils. * Demonstrate the ability to operate the MRI associated with power injector. * Demonstrates the ability to operate cardiac and physiological monitoring equipment. * Appropriately applies EKG acquisition leads. * Appropriately applies NIBP cuff. * Appropriately applies pulse oximeter probe. * Demonstrate the ability to operate the Easy Vision and all MRI associated data analysis equipment. * Demonstrates the ability to save images to optical disks, compact discs, vhs tapes, and films as needed. * Performs MRI quality assurance tests as necessary. * Ability to check helium levels. * Ability to perform phantom test for center frequency. * Monitors MRI system images for any problems. * Monitors coils and associated equipment for wear. * Notifies supervisor of any QA discrepancies and equipment related problems * The MRI technologist demonstrates the knowledge and skills to prepare and care for patients undergoing MRI diagnostic procedures. * Provides any necessary patient education pre-procedure. * Appropriately screen patients for MRI procedures. * Inserts intravenous lines as ordered by physicians when necessary. * Sets up patients for MRI maintaining patient rights and privacy at all times. * Provides emergency medical care, I.e.
