    Job Title: Pharmacist Senior Department Name: Pharmacy Status: Hourly Shift: Evening Pay Range: $68.68 - $85.87 per hour Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Summary Supervises and coordinates the daily activities of the pharmacy personnel. Reviews profiles, compounds and dispenses medication of the receipt of a physician order. Performs all other duties as a staff pharmacist. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments i.e. Damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas and medical errors, etc. Senior Pharmacist is also responsible for the provision of pharmaceutical care to all patient age groups (including geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric and neonatal patients). He / she is responsible for the preparation, dispensing and monitoring of both the prescribing and effectiveness of all medications and IV admixtures. The Pharmacist must exercise considerable independent decision making. The Pharmacist shall comply with all department and hospital policies and procedures. Qualifications: Required: Current New Jersey licensure required. Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred with good interpersonal relationship skills. Familiarity with all phases of Hospital Pharmacy. 1-3 years in a supervisory role, with a working knowledge of health care matters. Understanding of role of Pharmacy Department within the Hospital, its interrelationships with other departments and functions. Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions): * Full-Time * Evening * 37.5 Essential Functions: In coordination with the Administrative Director, supervise daily operation of the Pharmacy. Resolves all problems on a daily basis, or refer those that cannot be resolved to the attention of the Administrative Director. Performs all the same duties of a Staff Pharmacist. Teaches and helps train new pharmacists and support staff. Recommend three innovative or cost reducing ideas per year. Interprets physician order relating to individual's age, diagnosis, allergy and drug history. Monitor drug usage and effects of drugs on the patient. Supervises the maintenance of the compounding room environment and coordinates the daily operations of sterile compounding. Makes every attempt to be knowledgeable of changing policies, procedures, and clinical issues. Follows all procedures involved in the appropriate documentation of all medication errors, adverse drug reactions and interventions and meets the required minimum documentations per employment status. Completes department and organization competencies including net learning as assigned. Unit or Dept Specific Competencies Ensures monthly inspections are complete. Promptly and correctly answers phones. Is familiar with all functions of the Pharmacy Department. Maintains the confidentiality, security and integrity for the management of employee/patient information according to Policies and Procedures. Proficient in use of Pharmacy computer, and other departmental software, as required for position. Willingness and flexibility to work alternating and rotating work schedules on short notice.
