The PA is responsible for performing duties independently following established and standardized procedures and methods referring questionable situations to physician. * Typical hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00pm with flexibility to work shifts between 730am to 6pm based on patient care needs and travel to office locations in Livingston, Stirling, and procedure locations in Essex County.
Essential Functions:
* Support the physician by providing coverage with evaluation, treatment, and documentation of service for patients requiring Urology care in both the operating and office environment.
* Assistsphysician during office hours including preoperative and postoperative instructions.
* Provides dictation support and documentation of patient encounters and letters of Medical Necessity.
* Prepares discharge letters and make post-op calls to referring physicians.
* Reviews charts preoperatively and documents any pertinent information.
* Provides coverage with residents, fellows and other advanced practitioners covering provider on-call schedules.
* Liaisons between physician and outside consulting physicians regarding patient care.
* Performs assessment and reassessment of the patient according to applicable department standards and identified tools.
* Assistsphysician during hospital rounds with post-op patients and with research as needed.
* Participates in and contributes to Urology educational activities for appropriate internal and external parties.
