    POSITIONS AVAILABLE: 2+ PRIMARY FUNCTION: Perform a wide variety of technical and physical duties in the placement and finishing of concrete curb, slabs, and structures. May operate machinery, hand and power tools of all types: saws, air hammers, tampers, cement mixers, floats and trowels, small mechanical hoists, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces and forms, as well clean up debris and work area. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Concrete Finishers Operate a variety of complex equipment including trucks, backhoes, air compressors, hydro hammers, jackhammers, vibrators, brooms, pumps, loaders, concrete saws and mixers, hammer drills, generators and other similar equipment and machinery in repairing and installing concrete. Assist with preparation of concrete base including setting wood forms and positioning steel; measure and pour concrete; finish concrete; remove wooden forms and backfill; clean site; spread loam. Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials. Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones. Mix cement, sand, and water to produce concrete, grout, or slurry, using hoe, trowel, tamper, scraper, or concrete-mixing machine. Wet concrete surface and rub with stone to smooth surface and obtain specified finish. Wet surface to prepare for bonding, fill holes and cracks with grout or slurry, and smooth, using trowel. Perform necessary work while complying with all company policies and procedures. Perform additional duties as required or directed by their immediate supervisor or other manager. Work long, flexible hours as demanded by our customers including nights, weekends, and work outside for extended periods during all seasons of the year. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required Work Experience: Minimum of 3 plus years' experience preferred as a concrete finisher. Previous bridge construction experience a plus. Forming and pouring concrete foundations, walls and slabs. Previous carpentry experience a plus. Must be a minimum of 21 years old. Candidate must have a good work ethic and work as a team player. Must be able to work nights, weekends or overtime as needed. Overnight travel will be required for Asheville, NC job. Meet departmental grooming and performance standards and have a regular and predictable attendance. Other: Must have a valid driver's license with a good MVR. Candidate must have reliable transportation to the job site. Must not be frighten of heights or working near or over water. Heavy physical demands: Heavy physical effort required including pulling and lifting or moving heavy weight material with frequent lifting or moving materials or equipment (over 80 pounds). Shovel cement and other materials into portable cement mixers; and mix, pour, and spread concrete. Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials. Spray materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint, or stucco through hoses to clean, coat, or seal surfaces. Tend machines that pump concrete, grout, cement, sand, plaster or stucco through spray-guns for application to ceilings and walls. Tend pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power for tools, machinery, and equipment, or to heat and move materials such as asphalt. Lubricate, clean, and repair machinery, equipment, and tools. Apply caulking compounds by hand or using caulking guns. Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones. Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes. Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures. Load, unload building materials, machinery, and tools. Mix ingredients to create compounds for covering or cleaning surfaces. Learn and follow safety regulations. Provide assistance to craft workers, such as carpenters, plasterers, and masons. Work long, flexible hours as demanded by our customers including nights, weekends, and work outside for extended periods during all seasons of the year. Perform additional duties as required or directed by their immediate supervisor or other manager. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Must be a minimum of 18 years of age. Work Experience: Must have a good work ethic, be on time and be dependable . Minimum of 1-year experience preferred but not required. Must be available to work various hours including days, nights and weekends. Prefer experience with DOT projects. Heavy Highway and erosion control experience is a plus. Candidate must be willing to shovel, rake, flag traffic and etc. Must have a clean MVR and valid driver's license with dependable transportation.
