PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The efficient management of assigned projects or operations. Position has direct responsibility for personnel, equipment, scheduling, safety, quality workmanship and completion of assigned projects on time and within estimated budget.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Heavy Highway Grade Division Foreman
1.) Supervise, direct and motivate crew to assure completion of assigned project as instructed by the superintendent, assistant superintendent, and/or the project manager.
2.) Ensure that new personnel are adequately trained in company policies, safety requirements and job responsibilities.
3.) Conduct thorough periodic evaluation of assigned personnel with special emphasis on their contribution to the company and our contribution to them.
4.) Assist and direct crews in proper use of equipment, improving job performance, controlling cost and quality of work, increasing productivity, improving communication and housekeeping on project.
5.) Perform equipment inspections, request maintenance and repairs following the company TPR program.
6.) Monitor crews and maintain regular work hours. Maintain daily payroll records and log hours worked for each employee assigned to you.
7.) Maintain detailed daily diary, recording conversations, weather conditions and events which could be used for future reference.
8.) Complete all required daily reports, verify their accuracy and transmit promptly to the superintendent, assistant superintendent, and/or project manager.
9.) Insure all work complies with local laws, NCDOT requirements, ordinances, EPA regulations or other governing authority (i.e. OSHA, MSHA, etc.) This includes all subcontractors working on your project.
10.) Insure all work is performed with emphasis on safety utilizing daily huddle meetings to communicate potential hazards. Insist upon compliance of all safety regulations. Conduct weekly tool box meetings with safety on the agenda. Will be held responsible for safety of the crew.
11.) Maintain good relations with general public, engineers, architects, inspectors and customers to facilitate job progress and to promote a positive company image. Develop a courteous and considerate attitude toward these groups.
12.) Encourage the development of corporate unity, insuring team spirit and pride throughout the company.
13.) Perform additional duties as required in the operations of the project or as directed by the superintendent, assistant superintendent, and/or project manager.
14.) Must have regular and predictable attendance.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Must be a minimum of 21 years old
Work Experience:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in heavy highway construction and commercial grade.
Experience with NCDOT and/or Federal projects desired, but not required
Heavy Physical Demands:
Heavy physical effort required including pulling and lifting or moving light weight material with occasional lifting or moving materials or equipment (over 80 pounds). If a position specific Physical Demands sheet is attached, it will describe in more detail the physical demands that are required.
Physical Activity:
Position requires the ability to continuously work around noise, dust, heat, cold, oil, and heavy equipment. Personal protective equipment may be required. Position requires ability to exchange ideas quickly and clearly and the ability to receive and evaluate detailed information and instructions.

General Summary:
The Grading Foreman supervises and works alongside a crew of employees and occasionally subcontractors when needed to assist in the installation and construction grading projects. Minimum 5 years' experience in construction- dry wall, ceilings, and/or flooring preferred
Ability to read blue prints and specs

Ensure that all safety training and certifications are up to date or scheduled.
Stay compliant with all Bonitz safety polices to ensure a safe and efficient workplace.
Must be committed to working safely while accomplishing all tasks.

You'll be responsible for leading a small team efficiently, ensuring safety, and delivering quality results. You will have the opportunity to lead routine projects and manage tasks with precision. The successful candidate will be highly accountable, have a strong passion for detailed communication, and demonstrate consistency and structure in the landscaping industry.

Qualifications:
Team player
A class “C” drivers license with 3+ years of safe driving experience
Ability to work some Saturdays
Be able to physically work outside under different weather conditions and lift 50lbs
2+ years leading crews in a commercial landscape/hardscape industry
Knowledgeable in landscape equipment, tools, techniques
Good planning and organizational skills
Able to read plans and blueprints
Able to travel
Responsibilities:
Run a crew of 2-3 people
Perform medium to large sized landscape install/ enhancement projects not limited to flower, shrub and tree planting, palm tree trimming, drainage, clearing, grading, basic irrigation work, turf installation, and additional softscape enhancements
Truck and Trailer standardization and cleanliness
Safe operation and maintenance of equipment
Participate in snow removal in the winter months
Provide customer service in a professional manner
