Responsibilities What You Will Do Provides clinical supervision to Care Coordinators/Social Workers and Interns. Continuously assess learning needs of supervisee; develop and implement learning objectives and supervision plan; complete performance reviews as required. Ensures the maintenance and monitoring of accurate, complete, and timely client treatment records by staff that complies with regulatory requirements and agency internal policy and procedure. Provides direct clinical services to individuals, families, and/or groups. Complete all clinical documentation within expected timeframes and in compliance with organization policies. Documentation must meet quality standards established by regulatory bodies and the agency. Provides regularly scheduled clinical and administrative supervision to assigned staff. Helps identify staff's training needs and, in response, plans, develops, and/or conducts training toward maintaining and improving clinical staff competency and compliance with agency policy and procedure. Reviews and/or completion of supportive housing applications and completion of psychiatric evaluations for supportive housing when needed Provides information on referral sources and ensures there are required linkage agreements Ensures there is a timely and appropriate incident follow-up Participates in inter-disciplinary team meetings (required quarterly for each family) and case conferences Qualifications Who You Will Be Someone with a Master's Degree in Social Work. In-depth knowledge of NYC's diverse network of medical and behavioral health care organizations, including substance use disorders and/or treatment services.     Job Description Therapist - Counseling Center - 60% Full-Time (21 hours per week) The Trauma Therapist position is 60% of a full-time position (21 hours per week) and is a hybrid position with 11 hours onsite and 10 hours remote. Onsite hours include 4 hours every Saturday and one shift from 12:00 to 8:00 during the week. This is an excellent position for clinicians in need of licensing hours and who wish to become experts in several evidence-based treatments for survivors of all ages of interpersonal violence. The Safe Horizon Counseling Center (SHCC) is a New York State-licensed outpatient mental health clinic that specializes, exclusively, in the trauma-focused treatment of child and adult survivors of interpersonal violence and other forms of abuse. SHCC also functions as the mental health “hub” of Safe Horizon, the largest crime victim's assistance agency in the country. Our main clinic is located at 41 Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, and we operate two satellites that are co-located at other Safe Horizon programs. Nearly half of SHCC's clients are referred by one of Safe Horizon's vast arrays of programs. The Trauma Therapist will receive paid training and supervision in a variety of evidence-based treatments for trauma survivors, and the client hours meet New York State's experience requirements for LCSW licensure. Responsibilities: Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, using an anti-oppressive lens, into your work with clients. Demonstrates exceptional engagement skills and clinical expertise in the provision of trauma-focused mental health treatment to SHCC clients (at least 60% engagement rate after 6 months); Provides time-limited, evidence-based trauma-focused individual treatment to clients of all ages; Develops and maintains expertise in the clinic's chosen methods of treatment including TF-CBT and Seeking Safety, as well as CPP, ARC, SPARCS, and CFTSI, as assigned; Monitors treatment fidelity following training in evidence-based treatments; Responds to the occasional client crisis, as necessary, with the support of the Clinical Director and/or Clinical Supervisor; Requests and participates in case conferences as necessary; Maintains a caseload of 16 clients at all times Maintains a productivity level of 12 billable services per week (totaling 564 billable visits per year) Participates in weekly supervision and treatment planning meetings; Maintains timely and accurate documentation of all case activities such that it is in “audit-ready” compliance with all Safe Horizon City, State, and Federal requirements; Performs other job duties as assigned Qualifications & Requirements: Must be able to attend weekly meetings on Zoom every Wednesday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm for training and group supervision. Provide crisis intervention as needed until the crisis has been stabilized. Participates in Incident follow-ups as needed. Further conducts Psychosocial/family assessments and psycho-social assessments for Supportive Housing as needed. Assists families with barriers to service and makes appropriate referrals as needed. Ensures maintenance of accurate, complete, and timely client records that comply with regulatory requirements and agency internal policy and procedure. Complies with 42 CFR confidentiality, HIPAA privacy, and security regulations. Serves as a liaison to community agencies and organizations.
