Do you have an eye for detail and strong customer service skills? We would love for you to apply for the Medical Office Referral Clerk! This person is responsible for maintaining an efficient flow of written and verbal information in the referral process, preparing and processing necessary paperwork and consulting with physicians and staff on information needed in the referral process.
What You Need:
Two years experience in an office setting.
High School Diploma or GED.
Previous insurance, registration and authorization experience preferred.
What You'll Do:
Gather required medical information for the referral/test/procedure.
Verify patient insurance and plan coverage pertinent to referral information.
Convey information in a timely manner to patients and referring provider's office with regard to organizing referrals, based on assigned work queue.
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Respond to patient inquiries pertaining to health plan guidelines and other case-specific administrative inquiries.
Convey information to patients referring them to health plan or the receiving department when necessary.
Review assigned work for referral requests and gather all information to send to the receiving location to be scheduled, contacting the receiving location to ensure it receival, following up as needed.
Request notes or test results from the referred to location and ensure the patient is scheduled back at SLVH for appropriate follow up.
Document the referral process within the Electronic Health Record following established workflows.

San Luis Valley Health is seeking a full-time Medical Office Assistant to join our Cardiac Diagnostic Team! This position is responsible for supporting patients through exceptional customer service which includes managing all aspects of scheduling, admissions, and billing processes while supporting the Cardiac Diagnostic Services team with administrative services.
What You'll Have:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Strong customer service skills
Experience with Microsoft Office products
What You'll Do:
Clerical support tasks such as checking the mail, filing, monitoring failed fax log and other office support.
Communicating with patients and co-workers in a polite and respectful way.
Maintain all scheduling aspect, coordinating patient care, confirming appointments and updating physician's schedules.
Act as imaging services secretary when necessary, answering the phone and scheduling patients as necessary.
Maintain accurate records and forms for billing, gathering insurance information and creating charts on all new patients.
Collect co-payment, co-insurance and/or visit charges and past due amounts on patient accounts.

*Current employees are not eligible for the sign on bonus.
Loyalty Bonus - $1200 upon 1 year of service and then a $300 payout for every additional 3 months worked. This applies to only FT employees. The amount will be prorated for PT employees.

Job Summary: The MedicalAssistant Float provides patient care under the direction of a licensed healthcare provider. Schedules appointments and performs the necessary intake functions for arriving patients, assists in questions, directs telephone calls, and other patient service duties. This is a float medicalassistant position that is based at our Health Center at Printers Parkway but will have the opportunity to float to various Peak Vista locations in Colorado Springs.
Checks email and phone communication daily and responds to communications (email/phone messages) per Peak Vista policy
Schedules appointments and performs the necessary intake functions for arriving patients
Must complete MA competency skills check within 90 days of hire and all ongoing required competencies, trainings, and assessments
Required to work at other Peak Vista locations as requested
Orients/supports new staff as requested
As a Peak Vista healthcare team member assists in the coordination of providing quality patient care
Responsible for attending all required Peak Vista meetings
Actively promotes and participates in clinic team-based care model
Supports providers in the delivery of medical care, assisting with patient procedures as needed
Responsible for ensuring patient treatment areas are clean, organized, and follow Peak Vista safety and compliance standards
Employee demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to the Compliance Plan and conflict of interest requirements. The employee enhances the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of the department by contributing to, and participating in, departmental performance improvement goals

Summary
The MedicationAssistant (MA) serves as caregiver who provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a charge nurse.
Job Description
Knowledge of and delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per plan of care. Provides assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities that may include, but are not limited to, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psycho-social support and other personal care to assigned resident. May assist the resident in transferring, re-positioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment and provides range of motion and passive exercises. Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, while creating a positive dining experience for the resident. May assist residents with meals and snacks; provide water and supplements as appropriate.
Administers prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and within their scope of practice as defined by state regulations. Documents the outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary. Communicates changing condition, medication follow-up and care related concerns/responses to the charge nurse. Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs. Provides housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational. Provides assistance and documentation with wellness and recreational programs and encourages residents to participate. May participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
Qualifications
High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
Minimum age of 18 preferred. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year. A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually based on state requirements. Maintains all department specific required certifications. When applicable, may need a valid driver's license and auto insurance. Iowa: Require Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing. CNA certification must be maintained with the State Board of Nursing. Successful completion of a state-approved Certified Medication Aide/Assistant course once CNA certification is obtained. Minnesota: Must have nursing assistant certification, have completed the 75-hour course and be registered with the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry. Successful completion of a state-approved Trained MedicationAssistant course. North Dakota: Require Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing. CNA certification must be maintained with the State Board of Nursing. Successful completion of a state-approved Certified Medication Aide/Assistant course once CNA certification is obtained. What You Need:
Two years experience in an office setting.
High School Diploma or GED.
Previous insurance, registration and authorization experience preferred.
What You'll Do:
Gather required medical information for the referral/test/procedure.
Verify patient insurance and plan coverage pertinent to referral information.
Convey information in a timely manner to patients and referring provider's office with regard to organizing referrals, based on assigned work queue.
Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Respond to patient inquiries pertaining to health plan guidelines and other case-specific administrative inquiries.
Convey information to patients referring them to health plan or the receiving department when necessary.
Review assigned work for referral requests and gather all information to send to the receiving location to be scheduled, contacting the receiving location to ensure it receival, following up as needed.
Request notes or test results from the referred to location and ensure the patient is scheduled back at SLVH for appropriate follow up.
Document the referral process within the Electronic Health Record following established workflows.

Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in assisted living. The NA provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a charge nurse. Provides assistance with basic health care needs including daily living activities that may include, but are not limited to, bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support and other personal care to assigned resident. Depending upon location, they may assist the resident in transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment and also provides range of motion and passive exercises. Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, while creating a positive dining experience for the resident. Assists residents with meals and snacks, provides water and supplements as appropriate.
Depending upon location the NA may aid providers and nursing staff members with procedures and/or collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs. Depending upon location the NA may administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and within their scope of practice as defined by state regulations. NA documents the outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary. NA must communicate changing condition, medication follow-up and care related concerns/responses to the charge nurse. Depending upon location, NA may provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational. Provides assistance and documentation with wellness and recreational programs and encourages residents to participate.
The NA has knowledge of and delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per care/service plan. Depending upon the location, may need to be knowledgeable of providing care to tenants with dementia. The NA is considered a member of the nursing team and is expected to know, and will be held accountable for, following infection prevention and control policies and Personal Protective Equipment use.
The nursing department provides care 24 hours/day; any of those hours may be an expectation of employment specific to the needs of the department, possibly with varying shifts. These needs change dependent upon staffing availability and resident census. Will be required to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays. Specific shift assignments will be made based on nursing area and by location. Committee meeting attendance may be expected at times. When students are providing resident care, treatment, and/or services as part of their training, any/all employees may be asked to provide direction to the students.
Qualifications
High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in assisted living preferred.
Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing.
Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year. A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually. Maintains all department specific required certifications.
When applicable, for applicable states, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.
Dependent on facility and required responsibilities, this role may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor
vehicle report and proof of valid driver's license. Also must be medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of
this position as per our Sanford Driving Policy per the leaders request.
