The Maintenance Supervisor in Franklin WI will be a key stakeholder for a new 340,000 square foot conversion facility and will play an integral part of Saputo's strategy to optimize its cheese network in North America. Saputo has a strong history in Wisconsin and are proud to be expanding our footprint in this area. The Maintenance Supervisor directly supervises maintenance employees on assigned shifts to ensure the effective delivery of maintenance services and support production in a 24-hour 7-day per week operation. This includes planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing product and employee complaints, and resolving problems. This person carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies, OSHA regulations and applicable laws. Regular shift hours: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Supervisor is expected to work 30 minutes prior & after regular shift hours) How you will make contributions that matter... * Collaborate with the Plant Engineer, Maintenance Manager, and facility management to utilize equipment to improve employee safety, production quality, equipment reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness. * Supervise both the maintenance and capital projects for the site. * Utilize mechanical and electrical expertise to maintain production systems, utilities, buildings, and grounds. * Utilize a computerized maintenance management system to optimize asset utilization through scheduled preventative maintenance. * Ensure that all utilities (i.e. refrigeration, electrical, steam, compressed air systems, etc.) are in proper working order to support production. * Implement corrective actions identified by key maintenance performance indicators to create overall equipment effectiveness. * Remain current with latest and emerging industry regulations and codes relative to mechanical and electrical systems design and operation. * Ensure corporate policies and standards are followed in both capital project implementation as well as daily maintenance. * Complete all paperwork including maintenance records, incident reports and investigations, and others as assigned by the maintenance manager. Maintain current technical documentation on Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs), instrumentation, and equipment (PLC ladder logic, blueprints, manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintenance procedures, Preventive Maintenance (PM) program), inventory/parts purchasing. * Share "best practices" within the Maintenance Department. * Monitor and enforce policies, plant rules and programs with employees, contractors, vendors, consultants, and suppliers (i.e. safety, food safety, regulatory, etc.). * Engage in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating and delegating. * Provide management of employees directly to ensure effective selection, retention, development, and performance management. * Evaluate Maintenance personnel skills and abilities and assist Manager with developing training programs for employees' growth. * Adhere to the Saputo code of ethics and actively apply the Saputo values. * Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. You are best suited for the role if you… * A minimum of five (5) years industrial maintenance experience within a dairy, food, and/or beverage manufacturing industry workplace environment is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience; previous supervisor level experience is required (leadhand experience is not sufficient). * Working knowledge of boilers, cooling towers/chillers, Hayssen packaging equipment & Yamato high speed scale experience (both are a must have or possess experience on similar equipment), conveyor systems, HVAC equipment & Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs). Skills in electronics, instrumentation and electrical systems and troubleshooting, reading electrical schematics and understanding ladder logic are a plus. Ability to calculate basic mathematical equations and formulas is required. * Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices in the food industry. * Ability to coach, train, lead, and retain a team of employees through strong leadership skills by creating a cohesive/collaborative workplace environment is key to teamwork success, including managing employee relations through an investigative process to support & maintain positive morale throughout the workforce. * Ability to recognize opportunities to simplify processes and create efficiencies. * Knowledge of SAP/Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Maintenance Planning software experience & new facility/start-up operations experience are a plus. * Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures. * Ability to follow all Sanitation and Quality Policies and Procedures, and report and follow through on any deficiencies. * Excellent verbal/written communication skills. * Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change. * Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. * Organized with ability to prioritize and pay attention to the details * Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines. * Ability to select, lead, coach, influence, motivate, develop, engage, and retain a team of employees. * Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. * Ability to understand cost containment and budgetary principles * Ability to work flexible hours including weekends in support of plant operations. * Demonstrate professionalism and positively always represents and promotes Saputo. * Ability to work in a manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift. * Physical lifting ability up to 40-lbs unassisted frequently throughout the shift. The Maintenance Supervisor in Franklin WI will be a key stakeholder for a new 340,000 square foot conversion facility and will play an integral part of Saputo's strategy to optimize its cheese network in North America. The Maintenance Supervisor directly supervises maintenance employees on assigned shifts to ensure the effective delivery of maintenance services and support production in a 24-hour 7-day per week operation. This includes planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing product and employee complaints, and resolving problems. This person carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies, OSHA regulations and applicable laws. Regular shift hours: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Supervisor is expected to work 30 minutes prior & after regular shift hours) How you will make contributions that matter... Collaborate with the Plant Engineer, Maintenance Manager, and facility management to utilize equipment to improve employee safety, production quality, equipment reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness. Supervise both the maintenance and capital projects for the site. Utilize mechanical and electrical expertise to maintain production systems, utilities, buildings, and grounds. Utilize a computerized maintenance management system to optimize asset utilization through scheduled preventative maintenance. Ensure that all utilities (i.e. refrigeration, electrical, steam, compressed air systems, etc.) are in proper working order to support production. Implement corrective actions identified by key maintenance performance indicators to create overall equipment effectiveness. Remain current with latest and emerging industry regulations and codes relative to mechanical and electrical systems design and operation. Ensure corporate policies and standards are followed in both capital project implementation as well as daily maintenance. Complete all paperwork including maintenance records, incident reports and investigations, and others as assigned by the maintenance manager. Maintain current technical documentation on Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs), instrumentation, and equipment (PLC ladder logic, blueprints, manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintenance procedures, Preventive Maintenance (PM) program), inventory/parts purchasing. Share “best practices” within the Maintenance Department. Monitor and enforce policies, plant rules and programs with employees, contractors, vendors, consultants, and suppliers (i.e. safety, food safety, regulatory, etc.). Working knowledge of boilers, cooling towers/chillers, Hayssen packaging equipment & Yamato high speed scale experience (both are a must have or possess experience on similar equipment), conveyor systems, HVAC equipment & Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs). Skills in electronics, instrumentation and electrical systems and troubleshooting, reading electrical schematics and understanding ladder logic are a plus. Ability to calculate basic mathematical equations and formulas is required. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices in the food industry.
