    Job Description We are Secure Community Network (SCN), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) serving as the official safety and security organization of the Jewish community in North America. Here at SCN, we deeply value the team of people that work diligently to commit their lives to action for a better tomorrow and we are excited to add a Protective Security Specialist to our organization. The Protective Security Specialist will be responsible for the safety and security of SCN's key executives and other designated persons, including responsibility for performing security advances of business, events, and other locations, providing close protection, and addressing and/or supporting security requirements related to transportation, lodging, and related needs. This position is based in our Chicago office and requires a flexible schedule with the ability to work nights/weekends and travel extensively. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Provide close protection and other security-related functions for key SCN executives during domestic and some international assignments. Coordinate with the Protective Security team through the provision of support for security matters ranging from site security to protective intelligence-related threat investigations. Provide office security at our SCN office including monitoring office security cameras and accepting and examining mail and package deliveries. Oversee visitor management including screening, documenting all visitors and guests at SCN, escorting them into the facility, badging, and departure. Perform vulnerability assessments for the SCN executives both at work and at their residences. Provide security support and advice to staff for meetings and events where key SCN or Jewish Federation executives will be present to ensure an appropriate level of protection. Engage and maintain effective relationships with local security providers and law enforcement agencies to ensure an ability to cover events or obtain assistance when required. Coordinate travel, determining the safest hotels with proximity to events, selecting optimal routes, and evaluating third-party ground transportation vendors. Create operational plans for all travel covering advance work, air travel, hotel, ground transportation, routes, and emergency contingencies.     Description: The Security Coordinator oversees shift activity, staff deployment and coverage. Implement and enforce center rules, policies, and security practices within scope of authority of Safety & Security Department. Monitor and support security of center grounds, buildings, program participants and staff through physical patrol and electronic means. Essential Functions Follow strict documentation requirements for security and safety functions for logs, reports, and investigations in compliance with Department of Labor, Corporate and Center guidelines, and policies. Ensure timely submission and detail of shift logs reporting concerns and corrective actions to Manager. Participate in interview process for new staff and provide input on candidates. Provide new staff orientation and training for assigned shift. Secure buildings and property by checking doors, windows, lights, appliances, equipment, locks, and emergency equipment. Document findings and corrective actions taken. Make recommendations to Manager for service improvements and safety enhancements. Conduct and document security investigations as directed. Oversee parking and traffic control monitoring, documentation, and reporting protocols. Perform routine vehicle inspections for visitors, students, and staff in compliance with center policies. Conduct personal safety checks for visitors and individuals entering center grounds, issue, collect and account for visitor passes. Oversee collection, documentation, storage, disposal and/or return of confiscated items. Respond to fire alarms and safety alerts taking necessary steps to maintain safety of students and staff and security of buildings and grounds. Assist staff in monitoring student movements, controlling disturbances and maintain order. Document activity and security incidents reporting violations and corrective actions taken to Manager. Interface with local law enforcement and community representatives as needed in performance of duties. May utilize GSA vehicles to transport students to off-site learning and employment opportunities, appointments, and as needed for retrievals and other center-related needs. Create a supportive work environment that motivates staff to work effectively together. Model positive behavior and a high level of conflict resolution skills at all times. Participate in department meetings and all mandated PRH and corporate training. Utilize information systems and handle student data in strict adherence to Job Corps and Strategix policies to protect student's personally identifiable information (PII) and reduce network security threats. The incumbent may be required to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL). Preferred State Security Officer Certification.
