Learn more about us: ******************************** The Role The Electrical Engineering Manager is responsible for leading low-voltage electrical system design and development, reviewing and validating engineering drawings, calculations, and bills of materials, and overseeing as-built documentation. This role also involves managing project scoping and budgeting, conducting site visits for client interfacing, and mentoring a team of skilled professionals to deliver high-quality electrical and automation solutions. This position reports to the Vice President, Controls Engineering. Key Responsibilities * Low Voltage Electrical system design and development * Review of facility drawings and documentation to generate electrical and automation engineering designs * Review, and authenticate electrical engineering calculations and drawings including Electrical plans, electrical load lists, single lines, Area classification, Motor control schematics, voltage drop, lighting calculation, Arc flash studies, power distribution, panel design, I/O drawings, junction boxes, power, grounding and instrumentation layout drawings, cable schedules, network diagrams * Review complete system Bill of Materials * Oversee As-building of electrical systems * Assist with scoping, quoting, and budgeting for new opportunities and pursuits * Site visits to determine project electrical requirements, interface with clients, and gather information for as-building electrical and automation systems * Mentoring and supporting other members of the electrical design & automation teams * Managing a team of skill professionals Qualifications and Experience Essential * Prior experience leading or mentoring technical teams, managing work * An Electrical Engineer with 5+ years' experience in electrical system design, including automation systems, electrical codes, and design calculations * Ability to navigate and drive change * In-depth understanding and practical experience with industry Codes and Standards * Working knowledge with AutoCAD Electrical and/or other Electrical drafting software * Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills * Motivated by challenges * Works well with a variety of different people from diverse backgrounds * Motivated & passionate about working with people and overcoming challenges through collaboration and a win-win paradigm * An ability to travel; although this position is focused on local clients and minimal travel is required Desirable * Experience with incorporating PLC's, HMI, RTU's, SCADA, and Networking is an asset Physical Demands * While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear. * Occasionally lifts or move up to 25 pounds. Proven experience in electrical short circuit analysis, relay protection settings and coordination, power quality analysis, high voltage motor starting schemes and analysis, hazardous area classification and lightning protection. This includes writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, as they relate to a continuous operation process. • Partner with the maintenance planner to ensure electrical projects are properly scheduled, and partner with the maintenance engineer to develop a good electrical/electronic preventative maintenance system. • Perform design calculations and prepare equipment or material specifications for electrical and electronic PLC based systems. • Periodically investigate and make an analysis of electrical or electronic based problems associated with the production operations, and take the appropriate action to correct these problems. • Assist and train maintenance, production or other technicians as needed with technical or troubleshooting related matters. • Contribute to capital projects initiated by on-site engineering resources or the corporate Controls Team. • Develop capital project scope of works and create detailed funding requests for assigned projects. • Direct the work of outside contractors and maintenance staff during project installations. • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 7+ years of experience in an industrial continuous process manufacturing environment Required * Proficiency with Rockwell Automation software - Studio 5000, RSLogix 500, FTView, CCW, and FTAC. * Proficiency selecting, configuring, and troubleshooting Allen Bradley PowerFlex variable frequency drives * Deep understanding of basic electrical theory. * Knowledge of electrical/electromechanical devices * Knowledge of different types of instrumentation and how to calibrate them; Pressure, temperature, flow. * HMI development expertise - FTView and/or Wonderware * Experience with maintaining Production networks, including servers and managed switches * Demonstrated ability to manage/install production servers * Demonstrated experience of leading controls projects to fruition: Preparing scope, meeting with vendors, evaluating vendor progress, and managing the installation/startup. * Demonstrated ability to use trending and other analytical tools to troubleshoot process issues. * Deep understanding of how a continuous web handling system works and how to troubleshoot it. * Demonstrated willingness to share knowledge with other team members/plants.
