Performs all standard duties of a Safety/Security Officer II while assuming full responsibility for the care, training, and deployment of the assigned SWC, in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Ensures safe and effective canine operations within sensitive medical environments, respecting patient privacy and regulatory standards. Maintains a secure atmosphere conducive to patient care, going beyond traditional security roles to support a healing and safe environment. Demonstrates advanced knowledge and experience in healthcare security protocols and emergency response procedures. Applies professional canine handling skills in high-stress, dynamic clinical settings. Understands and navigates the unique challenges of hospital and clinical environments, including behavioral health and high-traffic public areas. Collaborates with clinical staff and multidisciplinary teams to provide coordinated, effective safety support. Qualifications: Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. Satisfactorily complete an LHS approved SWC Handler Academy. Associate's degree/college level coursework in professionally related fields such as criminal justice, social work, psychology, or any social science preferred. The education requirements for DPSST certification may be different from Legacy's education requirements for this job. Experience: Minimum two years prior Corrections, Military, First Responder (law enforcement, fire services, EMS), or comparable Security experience; OR, one year of Legacy Health Officer experience. 2 years of professional SWC. Handling experience preferred. Minimum two years' experience with heavy public contact and an emphasis on customer service required and de-escalation training preferred. As our Part-Time Event Security Agent, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety, security, and integrity of back-of-house (BOH) areas during events. We are seeking reliable, professional security personnel who are observant, courteous, and capable of professionally managing access control and de-escalating situations as they arise. DAY-TO-DAY: De-escalate situations and communicate with Security Management. Verify credentials and enforce access control policies for staff, vendors, and clients. Maintain a visible and approachable presence to deter unauthorized access and identify potential security concerns. Complete incident reports and communicate with event supervisors. Monitor the event level and back of house spaces for safety hazards. Respond quickly to disturbances, accidents, and medical emergencies. Evacuate tour personnel, staff, and guests in the case of fire alarms or threats following emergency protocols. Log incidents and complete written reports when needed. Communicate with Security Management Team and Security Leadership as needed. Help resolve client and guest complaints calmly and professionally. Monitor BOH spaces, backstage, and restricted areas. Check equipment and facilities before and after events. Communicate with team members to clarify or resolve any data discrepancies. Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, following company protocols. Uphold the highest standards of discretion and professionalism in sensitive environments. Possess or have the ability to obtain an Event and Entertainment Private Security Certification. Demonstrate safe work habits and proper body mechanics when lifting or moving heavy objects and are able to walk or stand for 75% of your shift. Have prior experience in security, law enforcement, customer service, or a related field. Demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Are calm under pressure and able to respond effectively in high-stress or emergency situations. Have the physical ability to stand and walk for long periods, and to perform patrols throughout the venue. Are proficient in documenting incidents clearly and accurately. Work well both independently and within a team environment. Are committed to professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.
