The work is performed under the supervision of the Corporal and Sergeant. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Performs housing unit control center tasks. Observes inmate activities and maintains discipline, security, custody, and control. * Addresses inmate concerns and answers questions. Operates high-security doors. Observes Correctional Officers in the unit. Sorts, opens, and inspects incoming inmate mail. Issues hygiene and health supplies. * Performs Internal Transport Officer tasks. Escorts inmates to appointments for visitation, attorney visits, law library, medical/dental care, arraignment, etc. * Counts inmates. Participates in riot control.
