Shenandoah Community Health (SCH) is looking for a Dental Assistant to work in our Healthy Smiles Dental Office. The dental assistant is a multi-skilled member of the dental health team, dedicated to assisting the dentist with all phases of dentistry. Role & Responsibilities: Establish rapport with patients for comfort and communication; deliver the highest quality patient care/customer service. Take patient blood pressure. Review and process patient consent forms. Provide patient education and resources on post-op instructions, dental hygiene, dental fixture care, as well as any special instructions or information as needed. Take dental x-rays. Provide excellent chair side assistance for each dentist, learning dentist preferences for procedures and treatments. Pass instruments, assist with supplies and suction as needed. Preparing the dental exam room for use, ensuring the room is well stocked and organized. Chart for comprehensive exams and treatment plan. Nitrous certified to sit entire appointment with patient to monitor. Operate autoclaves, maintaining and cleaning appropriately. Sterilizing dental instruments and equipment and placing for easy access. Make trays for restorations and stock rooms with them. Daily quality control inspections preformed daily including date, autoclave number and initial. Take impressions, pour up and trim models. Administrative tasks as needed. Support front desk team members when needed. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Education Requirements: No experience needed. 1 year dental preferred, but not required. Will train and certify on-site per WV guidelines and standards.
