This role is responsible for identifying visual and dimensional defects using magnification tools and ensuring that all parts meet strict quality and compliance standards. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES * Interpret and follow written work instructions, technical drawings, and SOPs to ensure product compliance with specifications. * Identify nonconforming materials and escalate findings according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory or customer quality standards. * Perform visual inspections using a magnifying glass or microscope for extended periods to detect surface, cosmetic, or structural defects in highly intricate and delicate ceramic parts. * Accurately record and report defects into a MES (Manufacturing Execution System) system to ensure a high degree of data integrity. * Communicate effectively with production, quality, and engineering teams to address quality issues. * Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying recurring defects or process gaps. * Maintain adherence to 6S standards by ensuring quality inspection areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety and operational procedures. * Perform other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS * Must be a U.S. Person as defined by U.S. export control laws (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) to comply with applicable government regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). * Education: High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent certification/work experience in quality control/inspection role in a production environment. * Experience: Minimum 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment in a quality control or inspection role, or other applicable industry related work experience preferred. * Strong attention to visual detail, including the ability to perform inspections under magnification for prolonged periods on highly detailed parts or assemblies. * High level of dexterity to work on detailed surfaces that with small hand movements. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of accuracy. * Proven ability or familiarity with SOPs, work instructions, and inspection documentation. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES * Ability to speak, read, understand, and adhere to work instructions and standard operating procedures in English. * Ability to engage closely with engineers to develop and execute experiments as requested. * Experience in pharma, bio, med device, defense, or aerospace manufacturing or related experience with highly detailed quality inspection preferred. * Ability to pass standard vision and hearing test as part of pre-employment testing. * Comfortable performing work in a manufacturing production area. * Ability to sit or stand for long periods using fine visual inspection tools with magnification. * Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols is required. * Ability to handle, adjust and transport fragile manufactured parts regularly across the production floor WORKING ENVIRONMENT * Working Environment: Manufacturing floor * Required PPE: Check for required PPE in areas you may be working in This is a full time position

    Aviation Repair QC Inspector Job Description CTL Aerospace is a full service NADCAP certified composite-manufacturing company providing services to the major aerospace and governmental organizations since 1946. CTL specializes in the manufacturing of Fiber Reinforced Polymer Structures. We are seeking talented professionals to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment as an Aviation Repair QC Inspector at our northern Cincinnati, Ohio location (less than 30 minutes from Dayton and/or northern Kentucky). Experience in aircraft turbine engine component repair. Experience in composite component manufacture or repair. Experience within aerospace or aviation repair or manufacture field. Proficient in the use of precision measuring hand tools to measure component defects. The ideal candidate will be flexible to perform other visual inspections as needed such as preliminary, hidden damage, in-process, and final inspections on metal/composite civil aviation articles with the current technical data provided in the manufacture's instructions for continued airworthiness, Service Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable and approved by the FAA. Evaluation of hardware at designated steps throughout the repair process. Inspection of hardware from outside processes. Job Requirements The individual will be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the method in which is being performed. The individual will be able to organize, and inspection findings results and be familiar with the codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the method being utilized. CMM Drug Free Workplace. FAA Regulations. Measurement Tools. Visual Inspection. Inspection in any field with the use of calibrated measuring equipment. Inspection in any field with composite/honeycomb, materials. Airframe and Powerplant license preferred (but not required). Aviation, aerospace, or industrial turbine engine manufacture/repair/inspection experience preferred. This position requires you to undergo a DOT/FAA pre-employment drug test for the following prohibited drugs (as defined in 49 CFR § 40.3) prior to being hired or transferred into a Department of Transportation (DOT) safety-sensitive position as defined in 14 CFR part 120[1]: • Marijuana, • Cocaine, • Opioids, • Phencyclidine (PCP), and • Amphetamines. ________________________________________ [1] A safety-sensitive function, as described in 14 CFR part 120, §§ 120.105 and 120.215, includes a flight crew member, flight attendant, flight instructor, aircraft dispatcher, aircraft maintenance or preventive maintenance, ground security coordinator, aviation screener, air traffic controller, and operations control specialist.
