Job Purpose: The General Labor / Driver Class A position at Central Ohio Farmers Co-op Inc. is designed to support the operations of the cooperative by ensuring the efficient transportation of goods and materials, as well as assisting with various labor tasks as needed. This role is crucial in maintaining the smooth flow of operations and upholding the quality standards of the cooperative.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with team members to support various labor tasks, including warehouse operations and inventory management.
Properly learn grain and agronomy operations as directed by management.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries and shipments for reporting purposes.
Communicate effectively with management and team members to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Safely operate all vehicles to transport goods and materials to designated locations.
Assist with loading and unloading goods, ensuring proper handling to prevent loss or damage.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on vehicles to ensure operational efficiency.
Follow all company policies and procedures to uphold the standards of Central Ohio Farmers Co-op Inc.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
No experience required in a general labor role, but prefer some agriculture knowledge and/or interest in agriculture.
At least 1 year of experience operating commercial vehicles with a Class A CDL.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Proficient in operating and maintaining various types of farm equipment and machinery.
Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures related to both driving and general labor tasks.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members and customers.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and a strong work ethic.

Truck drivers deliver and distribute building products to assigned customers. Ensure safe loading, handling, and transportation of materials and heavy cargo. Complete necessary paper work and relay any customer questions or complaints to supervisor. Inspect truck for any defects or problems that might arise after and after trips and submit reports indicating truck condition. Maintain vehicle in safe operating condition including service with fuel, oil, and water. Maintain logs and records according to D.O.T. regulations. Assist associates in loading and unloading trucks or building loads as needed. Secure cargo for transit. Maintain a clean truck. Maintain good housekeeping in work area. Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
HS Diploma, GED or two (2) years equivalent work experience. Must have a valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) and possess the ability to safely operate transportation equipment (i.e., tractor/trailer combinations). Two (2) years truck driving experience required. Must have working knowledge of DOT regulations and meet BC driver qualifications. Performs duties in all weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Flatbed experience preferred. Knowledge of building products and forklift experience a plus.

Drivers average 1700 to 2200 miles per week
Transportation team members are paid a base rate per mile
Pay for new drivers are based on experience
In addition to their per mile pay, members of the Transportation Team are paid for loading and unloading bulk, bags and pallet deliveries, with extra premium for special equipment and short hauls
Who You Are:

Requirements
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Load, secure and deliver propane, liquid fuel, and lubricants products deemed necessary by your supervisor. Must adhere to Sunrise standard operating procedures for loading and delivery of such products.
Inspect vehicle and documents on daily driver's report. Driver is responsible for regular scheduled and preventative maintenance on their assigned vehicle. Must keep all safety inspections current and all equipment in safe working order.
Keep assigned vehicles, equipment and work areas clean.
Adhere to all company and government policies and laws concerning transportation and handling of all products and be familiar with NFPA 58/.
Assist in repairs of facilities and equipment.
Accurately and efficiently complete all necessary paperwork.
Provide friendly, courteous customer service.
Project a favorable image of the company to promote its aims and objectives and foster enhanced public recognition and acceptance of all its areas of endeavor.
Effectively communicate with customers and associates.
Adhere to all company and government safety policies and laws (i.e., viewing safety films, understanding right to know laws, fire, and explosion precautions, lock out - tag out, etc.)
