Pay Range: $16.40 - $20.90 Under the close supervision of a Supervisor and/or Lead Specialist, this position is responsible for performing general facility maintenance duties and cleaning of public facilities including restrooms and shelters at the Southpark Pickleball Facility. The job may require shifts ranging from morning to evening hours, weekends and holidays. Essential Duties: * Perform general grounds cleaning and maintenance (restroom, picnic shelters, picnic table repair, stocking of supplies, painting, sanitizing, etc.). * Collect and remove trash from the facility. * Operate a blower to maintain pickleball courts, and the shelter areas free of debris. * Clean and sanitize restrooms and shelters. * Operate phones, golf cart, blower, broom, shovel, hose, and other facility maintenance tools and equipment. * Clean and perform routine maintenance on facility maintenance equipment and tools. * Inspect areas for maintenance needs, vandalism, graffiti, and other hazards/safety concerns. Correct or inform supervisor of any hazards which might interfere with safe usage of facility; communicate issues/complaints to supervisor as needed. * Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment; resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner. * Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and orientations. * Assist other departments with District events as needed. * Attend work on a regular, reliable and punctual basis. May be exposed to extreme temperatures, sun, rain, snow, wind, humid or icy conditions. Frequent exposure to noise, fumes, dusts, mists, gases, grasses, molds, fertilizers, pesticides, solvents, oils, and greases. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. This includes a busy environment subject to continuous interruptions, background noises, variable weather conditions, ecosystems, and landscape. Physical Requirements: The daily routine requires the ability to bend, stoop, reach, lift, kneel, carry, grasp, push and pull equipment, supplies and materials. Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, exhibit manual dexterity and the ability to handle objects. Must be able to push, pull or balance. Upper body strength is a requisite to lift/move a maximum of 50 pounds unassisted and lift/move a maximum of 100 pounds with assistance. Vision requirements include: near acuity, far acuity, depth perception and color vision. Requires sense of smell and feeling. Requires the ability to communicate both orally and in writing and execute oral and written instructions with understanding. Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Trails Supervisor and/or Lead Maintenance Specialist, this position is responsible for accomplishing the various skilled tasks that are associated with the accepted maintenance practices for all trails, parking lots, public facilities, bridges and drainage ways. May be required to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and be on snow watch as well as work shifts deviating from this position's normal work days and/or with other work groups. Essential Duties: * Ensure the safety of District trail users and patrons that use District facilities and keep District liability risk at a minimum by properly maintaining District amenities to established standards. * Inspect all trails and rights of way including, but not limited to, trail systems, drainage systems, bridge structures, parking lots, and shelter and restroom facilities. * Maintain all parking lots and trails including sweeping, painting, parking block installation and repair, asphalt pot hole repair, snow and ice removal, restroom and shelter cleaning, trash collection, graffiti removal, and other amenities as assigned. * Control weeds by applying herbicides to trail systems, rights of way, parking lots and other related areas. * Assist in the creation and maintenance of documentation involving standard operation procedures in order to maintain inventory and appropriate maintenance of District amenities as assigned. * Complete personal timecards, daily activity reports and record maintenance activities as assigned. * Operate and maintain clean care for assigned tools, communication devices, division and shared equipment, motorized vehicles and hand tools to ensure safe acceptable condition at all times. * Responds tactfully, respectfully and in a timely fashion to inquiries and problems in person, by email, phone and mail providing helpful information and explanations in-line with District policies and procedures. The station is (roughly 25x25 footprint) consists of a few solar panels, (2) 7-foot tripods, and scientific measurement equipment surrounded by a locked chain link fence. The station will be monitoring the solar resource as well as other meteorological and weather-related parameters. The station requires weekly maintenance, on the same day each week during daylight hours to ensure consistent and accurate data is being collected for a minimum of 1 year and maximum of 2 years . Your duties will include the following: Uphold highest level of communication as first point of contact for equipment in field; Ensure all equipment is level & clean on a weekly basis; Provide troubleshooting (w/support from UL Solutions) and when requested, repair(s) for low-medium complexity issues; Ensure there is no debris obstructing the system (depending on site/region, grass cutting, snow removal, or clearing brush); and Confirm the system is secure and hasn't been tampered with. Each maintenance visit should take 60-90 minutes. UL Solutions requires a weekly excel logbook uploaded via internet along with photos and other documentation to support the visit which should take 45-90 minutes. The entire process is estimated to require between 2-4 hours each week, including travel time to and from site. Occasionally, UL Solutions may request your assistance in replacing or troubleshooting equipment. A Senior Engineer would contact you to walk you through the process. They will support you while onsite and review data after the equipment repair. Qualifications No solar experience is required. Training will be provided remotely via phone and video, potential onsite training when possible. Must be able to take instruction remotely throughout length of contract term. Must use own transportation to and from remote SMS location (4WD preferred.) Willing/able to walk to and from site, typically no more than ¼ mile in one direction. Must own or have access to gas or battery-operated weedwhacker for occasional grass management, additional compensation will be provided. Required to climb and work comfortably from a 6 or 8-foot ladder (provided). Required maintenance of equipment utilizing levels, screwdriver, and other hand tools (provided). Must have demonstrated computer literacy, including ability to upload attachments with their own version of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) to our SharePoint website with reliable internet.
