Lead Maintenance Specialist - Park District (Full Time, Non-Exempt) Application Closing Deadline: For best consideration, please submit your application materials by 4:00 p.m. December 29th, 2025 Hiring Range is $46,184 - $53,183 annually based on qualifications, education and experience as it relates to the position.
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Parks Maintenance Supervisor, this position assists in the oversight of daily activities of a park maintenance crew including full-time, part-time, and seasonal staff. The Lead Maintenance Specialist responsible for the operation, maintenance, repair and performance of daily inspections to assigned District maintained Parks. Assists in identifying, planning, prioritizing, scheduling, coordinating, assigning and evaluating projects and personnel associated with all aspects of park maintenance, including turf, irrigation, shrub and tree care, and facility maintenance. May be required to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and be on snow watch as well as work shifts deviating from this position's normal work days and/or with other work groups.
Essential Duties:
* Performs all cultural maintenance practices inherent to maintaining irrigated turf grass parks including mowing, aeration, fertilization, and irrigation.
* Properly plant, prune, weed, mulch and perform general horticulture maintenance within park and facility landscapes.
* Assists with training and oversight of trash and recyclables removal operations cleaning and clearing park grounds and facilities of litter and debris, operation of a trash and recyclables removal truck, common hand tools, installation and removal of waste receptacles and dog waste station maintenance.
* Assists with training and oversight of maintaining public shelter facilities including roof repair, picnic table repair, trash receptacle repair, stocking of supplies, painting, staining, restroom cleaning, sanitizing, grill maintenance.
* In the absence of the Park Maintenance Supervisor this position schedules, assigns and dispatches crews and equipment to maintain District parks to respective locations.
* Performs routine inspections of all grounds to ensure proper maintenance.
* Conducts training of personnel in techniques for safe and efficient operation of equipment, tools, machinery, work methods and chemical applications.
* Maintains, operates, and cares for assigned hand tools and equipment including trenchers, pickup truck, trailer, skid steer, stump grinder, compressor, small engines, etc. Maintains and routinely inventories parts and materials used while performing maintenance duties.
* Exercises good judgment and proper safety precautions and practices at all times.
* Reads water meters, activates irrigation systems and fountains at the beginning of the season and winterizes all systems, fountains, and shelters at the end of the season.
* Assist as needed with the installation of new irrigation systems and the extension of existing systems.
* Performs daily maintenance on parks' drinking and ornamental water fountains as assigned including filter cleanings and repairs to timers, pumps, lights, nozzles and liners.
* Keeps accurate records of daily activities and provides lists of materials for cost tracking. Responsible for providing accurate information for preparing purchase orders.
* Performs maintenance and repairs on play equipment as needed.
* Assist Staff with District sponsored events, making deliveries of materials and supplies necessary to meet the requests of facility rentals and work orders. This position requires the setting up and disassembly of event tents, tables, picnic benches, and chairs.
* Responds tactfully, respectfully and in a timely fashion to inquiries and problems in person, by email, phone and mail providing helpful information and explanations in-line with District policies and procedures. Thoughtfully handles confrontational or stressful interactions.
* Responds to emergency callbacks on a 24-hour basis.
* Performs snow and ice removal in your assigned area.
* Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and orientations.
* Attend work on a regular, reliable and punctual basis.
* Assists Park Maintenance Supervisor with establishing pruning objectives and pruning prescriptions to protect the health, vigor and structural development of shrubs and trees. Prune certain species to avoid the spread of disease, excessive sap bleeding and to enhance flowering.
* Monitor landscapes for pests (weeds, insects, and diseases) and perform pesticide applications associated with the proper integrated pest management for annuals, perennials, roses, shrubs, and irrigated turf grass.
* Assist in designing and renovating shrub or annual/perennial flower beds.
* Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, supervising and evaluating assigned staff; provide or coordinate staff training; and work with employees to correct deficiencies.

Education and/or Experience:
* Must be eighteen (18) years of age with a high school diploma or its equivalent.
* Any combination equivalent to three (3) years progressive skilled labor experience that is inherent to park or related grounds maintenance with an emphasis on turf care, installation and maintenance of irrigation systems, playground equipment, park facilities, urban forestry, and horticulture.
* A combination of experience and education may be considered.
Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements:
* Colorado Pesticide Applicator's License as a Certified Operator or Qualified Supervisor in the Turf and ornamental categories or the ability to obtain within one (1) year from the date of hire.
* Must possess a valid Colorado Driver License or the ability to obtain upon hire and maintain an acceptable driving record.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Knowledge of modern landscaping principles, methods, and best management practices.
* Knowledge of operations and maintenance of irrigation systems.
* Knowledge of work-place safety procedures and the ability to adhere to safe work practices and procedures.
* Knowledge of laws, regulations, and methods of pesticide application and the safe and proper use of pesticides and appropriate personal protective gear.
* Knowledge of modern horticulture principles, methods, and best management practices, operations and activities of a horticulture program.
* Knowledge in the proper maintenance and care of park assets.
* Knowledge in reading and understanding landscape design plans and documents, and the ability to interpret sketches, diagrams, maps and plans.
* Must have the ability to read and understand irrigation blueprints and instructional materials.
* Knowledge in the use and general maintenance of hand, power and motorized tools associated with landscape maintenance.
* Knowledge in the safe and proper operation of snow plows and snow blowers.
* Ability to train and supervise subordinate employees, community service workers, and volunteers.
* Ability to exercise good judgement and practice proper safety precautions at all times. Comply with District and Departmental vision, mission, rules, regulations, safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
* Ability to adapt to changing priorities, weather events, and special work requests.
* Ability to interact tactfully, clearly, concisely, and appropriately with the public, District administration, co-workers, and other agencies or contractors.

Pick-up trucks with manual or automatic transmissions; snow plow trucks, ATV's or out-front mowers with snow plows; trailers for towing equipment or materials; tractors, skid steers with various implements, mower, trimmer, various hand tools, trencher, tractor and implements, gas torch, irrigation pipe and fittings, electronic testing, locating equipment, Pesticide Application equipment including high or low pressure sprayers and backpack sprayers, Pesticides, fertilizers, and De-Icing salts, personal computer and other standard office equipment. This position will drive a District vehicle and/or a personal vehicle for business purposes.
Working Environment:
Regularly requires strenuous work outdoors with exposure to a variety of weather conditions, ecosystems, and landscapes; regular exposure to adverse conditions such as dust, noise, chemicals, and extremes in temperature, ultra-violet radiation exposure, and precipitation, including unlit or low light night-time activities.
Physical Requirements:
Stand, walk, sit, manually manipulate, reach outward, reach above shoulder, bend, lift up to 50 pounds. Position Summary

Door, window handles and locks including: repair and adjustments on all doors, windows and locks. Replacement of door locks, etc...
Fire alarm and safety: Knowing and abiding by all Hotel safety and emergency procedures. Locate problem area, assist Fire Department and reset elevators.
Maintenance shop and storerooms: Assist in cleaning and keeping the shop orderly. Keep tools in designated places. Inform the Chief Engineer or Engineering Assistant about parts and stock.
Guest: Responding to guests in a friendly, helpful and professional manner at all times.

Job Overview
Carry a portable radio, staying in constant communication with the central base station, respond to all engineering service calls, giving priority to guest requests, and maintain hotel equipment in an efficient, safe, accident-free manner.
Responsibilities
Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.
Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs and all hotel equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms.
Monitor and maintain all engineering functions when full engineering staff is not available (i.e. weekends and evenings). Respond to all emergency situations including fire alarms, bomb threats, disasters and power failures; notify the appropriate authorities.
Make rounds of the hotel property to ensure everything is in working order.
Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas.
Complete maintenance requests, take equipment and meter readings and maintain log to notify the next shift. Document all parts used and parts needed to be purchased.
Handle elevator breakdowns.
Maintain proper records of the Rooms Preventive Maintenance Program and Request Program.
Complete work order request forms on a daily and timely basis.
Report any unsafe conditions to leadership.
Qualifications
Education/Formal Training
High school diploma or equivalent trade school, special courses in building maintenance and construction.
Experience
A minimum of 6 months successful experience in equal or similar position.
Knowledge/Skills
Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and perform carpentry, repair work, construction and renovation work.
May require ability to drive pick-up truck and snow removal equipment.
Ability to maintain logs and records.

POSITION SUMMARY This position requires this person to perform general and complex repairs, and preventative maintenance safely and properly to club assets, and building infrastructure. Perform repairs to the facility to make sure the club building is running efficiently, and that the appearance of member areas are up to standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs general handy-man type maintenance duties associated with the facility
Performs carpentry work including drywall repair, painting, hang pictures, locksmith work
Moves furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested
Participates in monthly building inspections
Assists with the renovation/remodeling of Club; repairs plaster and drywall; paints building structures
Assist the maintenance team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment, heating & cooling systems
Responds effectively to all emergencies and emergency maintenance requests
Strong focus on customer service and creating positive interactions with team and contractors
Ability to communicate status of work activity and identify methods to perform activities safely, effectively, and efficiently

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lift Electrical Technician I completes industrial electronics control system maintenance, modifications, construction and inspections on lifts under the direction of the Lift Electrical Supervisor. They always comply with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations of Winter Park Recreational Association, Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board, United States Forest Service, American National Standards Institute (ANSI B77.1), lift manufacturers and insurance carriers, as well as WPR policies and procedures.

WAGE:
The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of Winter Park Resorts hourly pay range for this position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lift Electrical Technician I completes industrial electronics control system maintenance, modifications, construction and inspections on lifts under the direction of the Lift Electrical Supervisor. They always comply with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations of Winter Park Recreational Association, Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board, United States Forest Service, American National Standards Institute (ANSI B77.1), lift manufacturers and insurance carriers, as well as WPR policies and procedures.
The Lift Electrical Technician I will follow all Winter Park policies and procedures, all applicable laws (federal, state, and local), and all health and sanitation codes.
WAGE:
The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of Winter Park Resorts hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resorts total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Performs routine industrial electronics maintenance on lifts to maintain lifts up to Winter Park Recreational Association, Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board, United States Forest Service, American National Standards Institute, lift manufacturer and insurance carrier standards.
Assists the Lift Electrical Technician II & III with the design, modification, construction and installation of industrial electronics control systems as per Winter Park Recreational Association, Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board, United States Forest Service, American National Standards Institute, lift manufacturer and insurance carrier standards.
Performs annual and periodic industrial electronics inspections on assigned lifts to ensure reliability and compliance with applicable standards.
Troubleshoots lift problems as they occur.
Performs pre-operational lift start-up inspection to ensure that each lift is ready to run each day.
Operates shop equipment and power and hand tools both in the shop and on the mountain regarding the repair and maintenance of lifts.
Advises the Supervisor of changing conditions or occurrences that may adversely affect the lift machinery and/or its passengers.
Promotes and exhibits good safety practices, reports and/or corrects unsafe conditions.
Attends periodic safety meetings to increase safety awareness.
Informs the Supervisor of new techniques and developments in the industrial electronics and computer industries to ensure that our lift control systems and record keeping system are reliable and efficient.
Advises the Supervisor of items that may affect the budget and/or scheduling of projects.
Attends classes and seminars to expand and improve skills.
Maintains a friendly, congenial and helpful attitude while effectively serving our guests and interacting with other employees.
This position is required to work weekends, evenings, and holidays. May be required to work overtime, emergency call-outs, weekends and holidays as required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
High School diploma or GED.
Completion of an accredited electronics course (two year) that included theory, schematic reading, troubleshooting, and precision test instrument use preferred.
Experience:
Specialized Training - successful completion of an accredited electronics course (two years) that included theory, schematic reading, troubleshooting and precision instrument use.

Mountain Environment:
The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc...
The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high. Often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day is common.
Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment.
Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting. Ultra violet radiation from the sun enhanced through lack of atmospheric filtration at work altitude. Fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products. Noise generated by snowmobiles, lift equipment, and tools may require hearing protection to be worn.
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.

Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Park Maintenance Supervisor and/or Lead Maintenance Specialist in assigned Park District, this position is responsible for learning and performing the various skills that are associated with all aspects of park maintenance, including turf, irrigation, shrub and tree care, and facility maintenance with accepted maintenance practices for developed parks. May be required to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and be on snow watch as well as work shifts deviating from this position's normal work days and/or with other work groups.
Essential Duties:
* Performs all cultural maintenance practices inherent to maintaining irrigated turf grass parks including mowing, aeration, fertilization, and irrigation.
* Assists in maintenance of tree and shrub care, including plantings, removals, weed/pest control, pruning, and shrub bed maintenance.
* Perform trash and recyclables removal operations. Clean and clear park grounds and facilities of litter and debris, operation of a trash/recyclables removal truck, common hand tools, installation and removal of waste receptacles and dog waste station maintenance.
* Maintain public shelter facilities including roof repair, picnic table repair, trash receptacle repair, stocking of supplies, painting, staining, restroom cleaning, sanitizing, and grill maintenance.
* Assist with the inspection of all parks' irrigation systems and drinking and ornamental fountains as needed and assist with skilled maintenance including irrigation repairs to mainlines, valves, laterals, heads and pumps.
* Assist staff with District sponsored events, making deliveries of materials and supplies necessary to meet the requests of facility rentals and work orders. Set up and disassembly of event tents, tables, picnic benches and chairs.
* Assist with the documentation and routine inspection and repairs to play equipment within the district playgrounds.
* Ensure proper care of assigned tools and equipment, perform maintenance on small equipment and notify appropriate personnel of need for tool, equipment or vehicle maintenance service or repairs.
* Using District watering equipment provide supplemental watering to new plantings.
