    As a Utility Field Technician, you will be responsible for identifying utility pathways, cables, pipes, and other conduits that carry utilities underground. The field tech's primary goal is to locate projected utilities using a variety of techniques, excavation, and physical digging in a variety of land conditions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Assists SUE Crew Chief in underground utility location performing designating and excavating tasks. • Load, unload and maintain SUE equipment daily. • Safely excavate to expose subsurface utilities using hand tools and vacuum excavation technologies. • Provide accurate measurements for utilities in project limits. • Read and interpret utility records, as built and survey drawings and highway design plans. • Organize field work, while accurately and efficiently collecting field data, locating features, and deliver data to the office, while maintaining accurate records of work and expenses. • Drives, operates, and helps maintain SSMC vehicles. • Assists in providing Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) setup, as well as all related safety and other field tasks. • Mark utilities with flags and/or paint and produce a sketch of results for future use by the client. • Record and document the underground utility field data in accordance with Drafting and CAD standard formats. • Read maps and blueprints to determine where utilities are located. • Responsible for care and maintenance of equipment. • Coordinate survey work in relation with SUE. • During periods when locate activity is slow, this individual will assist in mapping, record keeping and information gathering and research for SSMC. • May work on Survey projects as needed. • Attend and participate in scheduled meetings. • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment Required: (i.e., Safety Boots). • Requires a valid driver's license and must maintain eligibility to drive as per the Company Vehicle policy. • Continually strive to maintain technical knowledge of industry standards. • Carry out other duties as assigned by management. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE • High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree in a related field is preferred. • Minimum (1) year field experience with SUE preferred. Any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. • Has knowledge of municipal construction, maintenance, and repair of utility infrastructure, and the methods, practices, procedures, materials, and equipment applicable to establishing and Technician maintaining efficient and effective production. • Knowledge of the laws, ordinances, standards, and regulations pertaining to the specific duties and responsibilities of the position. • Clearly understands the occupational hazards and safety precautions required to perform the essential functions of the work. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Perform heavy work requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work requires climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, walking on uneven ground, squatting, crawling, and grasping. May perform tasks that may require frequent exposure to adverse and hazardous environmental conditions including but not limited to excessive noise levels, confined spaces, exposure to noxious odors, inclement weather conditions, exposure to wastewater, working with unmarked underground utilities (e.g. high voltage power, fiber optic cables, low and high-pressure gas transmission lines), working in congested residential areas, in and around main highways and roads, trenches and deep excavations. Employee will be exposed to dirt, dust, noises, fumes, odors, water, and mud. Must be able to work on slippery, loose, uneven, and sloped surfaces.     As a Utility Field Technician, you will be responsible for identifying utility pathways, cables, pipes, and other conduits that carry utilities underground. The field tech's primary goal is to locate projected utilities using a variety of techniques, excavation, and physical digging in a variety of land conditions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assists SUE Crew Chief in underground utility location performing designating and excavating tasks. Load, unload and maintain SUE equipment daily. Safely excavate to expose subsurface utilities using hand tools and vacuum excavation technologies. Provide accurate measurements for utilities in project limits. Read and interpret utility records, as built and survey drawings and highway design plans. Organize field work, while accurately and efficiently collecting field data, locating features, and deliver data to the office, while maintaining accurate records of work and expenses. Drives, operates, and helps maintain SSMC vehicles. Assists in providing Temporary Traffic Control (TTC) setup, as well as all related safety and other field tasks. Mark utilities with flags and/or paint and produce a sketch of results for future use by the client. Record and document the underground utility field data in accordance with Drafting and CAD standard formats. Read maps and blueprints to determine where utilities are located. Responsible for care and maintenance of equipment. Coordinate survey work in relation with SUE. During periods when locate activity is slow, this individual will assist in mapping, record keeping and information gathering and research for SSMC. May work on Survey projects as needed. Attend and participate in scheduled meetings. Must wear Personal Protective Equipment Required: (i.e., Safety Boots). Requires a valid driver's license and must maintain eligibility to drive as per the Company Vehicle policy. Continually strive to maintain technical knowledge of industry standards. This role is based in Miami, FL, and will require travel outside of the area for extended durations. This position reports to the Field Engineering Technician Lead. RESPONSIBILITIES Commission, troubleshoot, and maintain ICON's 3D printers and related systems with minimal supervision. Connect and disconnect electrical, pneumatic, and network cabling to facilitate printer mobility. Independently resolve electrical, mechanical, and software issues, leveraging advanced troubleshooting skills. Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and monitoring of printer performance to reduce downtime. Regularly analyze printer data to foresee potential issues and proactively address them. Lead the coordination of complex tasks while ensuring team safety, operational efficiency, and compliance. Document troubleshooting steps, repairs, replacements, and shift handoffs in ICON's ticketing system. Build strong working relationships with Print Operators and other cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution. Train and mentor Field Engineering Technician I employees, contributing to their skill development and overall team effectiveness. Follow SOPs, workflows, and team instructions with a disciplined, process-oriented approach. Willingness to travel outside of Miami, FL, for multiple weeks at a time. Flexible availability to work nights and weekends as needed. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 4+ years as a Field Engineering Technician I or equivalent experience in a technical, hands-on role. Ability to read wiring diagrams and terminate cables (e.g., camlock power, EtherCAT). Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and control systems. Advanced knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, cabling, and related printer systems (preferred). Works independently on complex tasks; anticipates issues and mitigates risks. Strong communication and documentation skills. Takes ownership of decisions in local operations; can guide and mentor peers when needed. Willingness to travel outside of Miami, FL, including extended stays and on-call, nights, and weekends. Proficiency in English, spoken and written OSHA 10, CPR, and heavy equipment certifications. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS Advanced proficiency with PLCs, VFDs, and electrical troubleshooting, including equipment replacement and manual controls. Experience in remote device operation and system navigation. Proficiency in welding (various types). Experience contributing feedback to refine best practices and improve team workflows. PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely and regularly. Comfortable working in various outdoor environments, including extreme temperatures (above 100°F or below freezing), sun, rain, mud, and areas with limited infrastructure (e.g., lack of electricity). Comfortable standing and moving on your feet for the majority of the workday as well as climbing ladders and carrying material buckets.
