Participates in established intra-departmental and inter-departmental communication systems and methods to achieve departmental and hospital goals. Is responsible for insuring productive and efficient delivery of services through coordinated scheduling. Maintains required records/documentations as specified in department policy and procedures manual. Participates in medical chart peer review, case records review and utilization review as deemed necessary by management. Performs all other duties as assigned. To evaluate and obtain data necessary for treatment planning and implementation To develop a treatment plan that includes a target list, short-term, and long-term goals Instructs patient, family, and staff in appropriate speech-language procedures to allow carry over of therapeutic remediation and goals in daily activities To complete compliant and medically necessary documentation from CMS expectations in NetHealth EMR systems Oversight and implementation of proper protocols for FEES/MBS with coordination of site programs Participants in screening protocols for establishing needs of residents are being met timely and with clinical excellence Performs other tasks as assigned by immediate supervisor. Qualifications Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology Certificate of Clinical Competency MUST have active SLP license in state(s) of practice.     Department: Rehab-Arlington/Mansfield Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours: 4 The staff speech pathologists will have the education, knowledge and skill to provide in-patient and/or out-patient services, focusing on functional skills to enhance development, restore function and to prevent disability from pediatric conditions, illness and injury. Evaluation, treatment and home programming are provided for children with feeding and swallowing disorders, articulation, voice, resonance, and fluency, and receptive/expressive language disorders. Also includes aural rehabilitation/auditory verbal therapy for hearing loss or cochlear implant, and evaluation for augmentative communication devices. The position shall include patient and caregiver education and consultation to other professionals, clinics and agencies, both within Cook Children's Health Care System and within the community. Documentation and correspondence pertaining to these services shall follow department and system policies. Qualifications: Master's degree in speech/language pathology. Pediatric experience preferred BLS certification within 30 days of employment required. State license or eligible for state licensure. Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech/Language Pathology, or eligible for application upon completion of Clinical Fellowship Year and must be obtained within 12 months of hire to maintain employment at Cook.
