Obtains approval from the appropriate principal before sending letters of a school nature to parents or clinics. Attends meetings as requested by the principal or Department of Special Services. Performs duties concerning students/instruction to include: Understands each student's needs, interests, abilities, aptitudes, temperament, and environmental references. Maintains records and information concerning individual students in the prescribed confidential manner and using the records and information only for the purposes for which they are maintained. Remains responsible for the discipline of students under the clinician's care. Remains responsible for the progress of students under the clinician's authority, direction, and supervision. The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) functions as a member of the transdisciplinary team in the RAISE early intervention program for families with infants and toddlers who have developmental delays and/or disabilities or who are at high risk for delay. As an SLP, you will: Serve as a member of the assessment team, assessing communication skills. Participate in the determination of eligibility for Part C services and in the development of Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) with families. Provide speech/language therapy services according to the IFSP and document activities and observations. Maintain all appropriate documentation to meet RACS requirements, Medicaid and insurance requirements, and the requirements of the Infant & Toddler Connection of Virginia's Practice Manual for Part C services. The RAISE Speech-Language Pathologist must exercise sound judgment and initiative, must work well with little direct supervision, and must maintain client confidentiality in accordance with RACS policies and procedures, FERPA, and HIPAA. Education & Training Requirements: Master's degree required.
