Create and develop programs that meet the individualized needs of the resident population at the community.
Brainstorm event ideas using Partnership Profiles.
Set up and break down needed materials before and after programs.
Assist in resident outings,
Track resident attendance and participation.
Communicate with DLE for needed activity supplies.
Utilize the Partnership Profile to develop appropriate programs of interest to the residents.
Utilize the associate Partnership Profile to involve associates in programs of interest and to enhance the monthly calendar.
Demonstrate the company philosophy of Positive Partnerships the ARTIS Way.
Provides information to the Director of Life Enrichment regarding the resident engagement in order to assist with the development of a personalized care plan.
Maintain communication with family members regarding level of participation in programs.

YBH serves patients with complex histories, including aggression and psychosis, focusing on safety while promoting positive coping skills, healthy living, and engaging in leisure activities. As part of a large, interdisciplinary team including Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Social Workers, and Nursing Services, the Activities Therapist will play a vital role in the recovery process.
Summary:
The Activities Therapist plans, organizes, develops, and directs quality activities for patients, ensuring that the recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs of each patient are met in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. Activities Therapists work as members of a multidisciplinary treatment team. May organize and conduct music, art, recreation, or other therapy programs, depending on specialty.
Responsibilities:
1. Must perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: general activities duties,, supervisory responsibilities, care plan and documentation responsibilities, patient rights, and safety and sanitation principles and techniques of therapy as applies in an acute care psychiatric facility
2. Must demonstrate understanding of basic medical and psychiatric terminology as well as basic regulations governing the treatment of people in psychiatric health facilities.
3. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing while appropriately and descriptively charting patient progress and behavior. Maintain detailed records of activity programs and participation of individual residents, identifying progress toward established care plan goals.
4. Adapt treatment programs by graduating tasks to meet patient's level of function
5. Develop, organize, and implement a program of adjunctive therapy activities to meet the social, emotional, physical and other therapeutic needs of patients as identified on the patients' plan of care and within the specified budget.
6. Must be able to make regular in-room visits to patients uninterested or unable to participate in group activities
7. Must exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients. Coordinate and verify that assistance is provided to residents for activities and events as necessary. Create an ongoing calendar of activities, which creatively meets multiple needs and is accessible and appealing to both men and women of all ages and abilities.

Job Summary:
Provides activity therapy to clients admitted and treated for psychiatric illness. This position includes leadership of psychoeducational groups; scheduling of client groups, coordination of schedules of activity therapy techs, and keeping the department supply inventory in line with budgetary requirements.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Provides direct client contact, as appropriate.
Assist with maintaining unit safety.
Interviews and completes assessments on clients admitted to the department within the prescribed time period.
Documents results of assessments, groups and client progress toward activity therapy (AT) goals as listed in the treatment plan.
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings providing assessment information and supplying AT interventions.
Interacts in a positive and constructive manner with physicians, nurses, other treatment team members, and other departments when the need for consultation is apparent.
Plans and administers structured activities to provide psychological, physical, intellectual, and social stimulation of psychiatric clients.
Precepts and trains other employees as assigned.
Coordinates activities with nursing personnel and other ancillary providers to avoid time conflicts.
Identifies and communicates important client information to other team members as needed.
Attends in-services, training, and meetings as required.
Documents client's participation in groups and unit activities.
Exercise consideration and clean up the professional supplies used for conducting the group activities.
Promotes harmonious relationships among the health care team and internal/external customers.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
