Cognitive/Behavioral Neurologist Physician
The Center for Memory Loss & Brain Health at the Department of Neurology at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC), a major academic medical center within the Hackensack Meridian Health system, seeks to employ a full time BE/BC Cognitive / Behavioral Neurologist. The successful candidate will have completed a residency in Neurology and a UCNS accredited fellowship in Behavioral Neurology & Neuropsychiatry. Role at the Dementia Center and faculty rank at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine are commensurate with experience. The clinical focus is on patients at risk for dementia, mild cognitive impairment, and dementia. The Center seeks candidates with interest in outcomes research, translational research, clinical trials, and teaching of medical & graduate students & residents. The Center espouses an interprofessional approach in which geriatricians, neurologists, psychiatrists, neuro- & health psychologists, social workers & rehab therapists who are cognizant of health care disparities provide patient -centered care, accurate diagnoses, state-of- the-art treatment, opportunities for clinical trial participation, and to maximize community living & prevent caregiver burn-out. We are a site in the CMS GUIDE program, an alternate payment model to provide comprehensive dementia care to patients and caregivers living in the community and help improve outcomes like ED visits, hospitalizations and long term placement.
This position will be jointly recruited by Florian P. Thomas, MD, PhD, Professor & Chair of the Neuroscience Institute & Department of Neurology at HUMC & the School of Medicine, & Manisha Parulekar, MD, Director, Division of Geriatrics at HUMC & Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the School.
