We are seeking a full-time MaintenanceTechnician who will perform a variety of semi-skilled construction, electrical, plumbing and HVAC modification and repair activities. This position is responsible for the maintenance, monitoring, and repair of college equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Electrical- Knowledge of up to 480 electrical, troubleshoots and repairs of (120/208/277) systems.
Plumbing-Troubleshoots and repairs basic plumbing problems, solders copper pipe, repairs PVC, black iron and galvanized pipe, installs plumbing fixtures, knowledge of brazing.
Carpentry- Troubleshoots and repairs minor furniture, flooring, doors and hardware.
HVAC-Troubleshoots and repairs basic problems.
Performs general painting activities including patching, tapping and painting of drywall.
Assists in snow removal and training of Tech Assistance.
Performs preventative maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC equipment.
Performs inventory and requisition parts as required.
Tracks repairs and maintenance.
Performs set-up of equipment for maintenance.
Operation of campus vehicles as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to troubleshoot, repair, replace, and install mechanical equipment from schematics/blueprints, and three-phase motors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Three years experience in HVAC preferred.
Strong electrical background preferred; including electrical pneumatic and computer controls.

Minor electrical in replacement lamps/bulbs, sockets, switches, ballasts, fuses, and receptacles in buildings or on the exterior areas of the campus.
May assist in monitoring swimming pool functions including reading gauges, graphs, meters, and control panels to ensure water quality.
Performs labor duties including demolition and installation of walls, floors or as assigned.
Cooperates and coordinates work with other departmental areas as needed.
Maintains inspection duties according to established procedures and preventative maintenance schedules including fire and safety inspections and record keeping.
Makes repairs on minor dorm needs in the areas of carpentry, electrical and plumbing.
Performs other related duties as required.

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Physical Plant, the General Maintenance Buildings Technician performs a variety of general maintenance and repairs to ensure all university buildings remain in good physical condition. ESSENTIAL DUTIES : Use a variety of trade practices associated with occupations such as carpentry, painting, roofing, concrete finishing, welding, and related trades to perform work involving maintenance of building structures. Drywall installation and repair. Ability to tape, mud and paint. Basic Framing skills using wood or steel studs. Install or repair interior ceilings and floor coverings Use gasoline or diesel powered equipment such as forklift, skid loader, dump trucks, zero turn mowers, weed eaters and chainsaws to complete projects. Assist with snow removal. Assist with special events; set-up and tear down Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the University's discretion. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Representative, but not all-inclusive, of knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job competently. Physical Demands
Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, and work space restrictions.
Required Qualifications

Position Summary
Perform routine and preventative maintenance at the University campus with a strong focus on electrical systems. Respond to service requests from faculty, staff, and students, and complete assigned work orders from facilities supervisors. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Service Calls & Emergency Response
· Provide responsive, customer-focused service. Prioritize and complete work orders efficiently.

General Maintenance

· Read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics to diagnose and resolve issues.
· Maintain accurate service records and perform preventative maintenance routines.
Working Conditions
· Require standing, bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working on ladders or at heights.
· Work may occur indoors and outdoors, in varying weather and temperature conditions.
· Exposure to pool chemicals, noise, and mechanical equipment is expected.

Required Qualifications
