Job Summary and Qualifications
As a highly-skilled and compassionate RegisteredNurse in the Progressive Care Unit you will provide the best possible preventative, supportive, and nursing care to each patient receiving care for acute medical/surgical care of diseases and conditions. You will work to provide patients with an individualized care plan through assessment and planning. Brand new tower with 52 beds.
Lower patient ratios.

In this role:
You will provide assessment and planning for individualized patient care.
You will respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
You will provide care for the patient in collaboration with the patient/family, with regard to developmental, cultural and age specific differences, develops and implements patient care plans to include problems, goals, evaluations and interventions.
You will communicate effectively with physicians regarding patients clinical condition and results of diagnostic studies.
You will perform nursing duties as needed in the continuum of care for all patients.
You will participate in process improvement efforts and activities for the department.
You will works collaboratively with Social Service and Pastoral care to support and provide families emotional and end of life resources such as Hospice to facilitate a dignified end.
You will act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.
What qualifications you will need:
NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
(RN) RegisteredNurse
Advanced Cardiac Life Spt, or Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date
One or more years of higher acuity (hospital) RN experience required

Education:
A graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained
A copy of the college transcript or Diploma will be submitted
License:
Must hold a current, valid, unrestricted nursing license in one of the U.S. states, territories, commonwealths, or the District of Columbia
Contractor personnel are required to possess a license in the state in which they will practice and provide services under this contract such that medical providers are authorized to conduct the independent practice of clinical services as a condition of employment. This license shall be current (not revoked, suspended, or lapsed in registration), valid (the issuing authority accepts and considers QA information (i.e. practitioner professional performance and conduct in determining continued licenses)), and unrestricted (not subject to restriction pertaining to the scope, location, or type of practice ordinarily granted to other applicants for similar licenses in granting jurisdiction).This is a change to the original requirement and may be accomplished through specific state licensing or authorization to practice by the regulatory authority in the state(s) in which the contractor personnel are providing independent clinical care and services
Experience:
Minimum three years' experience as an RN
Certification:
Current, valid American Heart Association or American Red Cross certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) and/or Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification is highly desired
Language Proficiency:
Fluency in Spanish is highly desired.

The Nursing Graduate works under the direct line-of-sight supervision of the RegisteredNurse (RN) in the clinical setting and participates appropriately in the patient care delivery process. The incumbent also orients to the RN assignment, excluding independent nursing care. This position may participate in medication administration under the direction and supervision of the licensed RN.
The Nursing Graduate job can be utilized for up to 12 weeks while employees are in the Intermountain Nurse Residency program and are working toward preparing, testing, and passing the State Boards examination (obtaining an RN license). After that 12-week period, or if the Nursing Graduate fails the State Board exam a second time, the employee can no longer remain in the Nurse Graduate job. These employees can apply for any open jobs they qualify for, including jobs requiring a certification the employee currently holds (i.e., CNA, etc.). Failure to either pass boards or to be hired into another job will result in termination.
RegisteredNurse graduates must be enrolled and have started coursework in the Intermountain Nurse Residency program before providing direct patient care (including direct patient care supervised by a licensed RN).
