Stanley Consultants is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to lead and deliver water, wastewater, and groundwater projects in any of our Water offices.
This individual will be responsible for the planning, design, construction, and project management of water resources and municipal utility infrastructure, including drinking water sources, distribution systems, storage facilities, wastewater systems, and water treatment projects from technical development through construction services.
The Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer will have expertise in one or more of the following:

What You Will Be Doing:
* Leading team delivery of drinking water projects including evaluation and detailed design of intake structures, surface and ground water treatment plants, water reuse systems, storage, pumping, and transmission and distribution projects.
* Preparing master planning reports and documentation required for grants and loans.
* Self-motivated subject matter expert; demonstrated through participating in local professional organizations, preparing, and presenting market specific papers and presentations.
* Ability to articulate and operate within the One Water paradigm.
* Integration of smart water systems, process automation, and machine learning into overall water production and distribution design.
* Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation and other applicable engineering design tools.
* Work in collaboration with other disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical, I&C, structural, and CAD) in producing plans and specifications.
* Assisting in marketing business opportunities with key clients and development of responses to RFP/RFQs.
* Providing marketing, technical leadership, and support during the procurement and execution of projects.
* Developing and maintaining long-term relationships with clients.
* Assisting clients with permitting, property acquisition, and stakeholder involvement.

Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in either Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Engineering.
* At least 10 years of relevant experience.
* Professional Engineer (PE) license; Illinois PE preferred or must be able to obtain within 6 months of hire date.
* Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and/or Wisconsin network of water/wastewater connections.
* Regional expertise in one or more areas of water supply, treatment, storage, and/or distribution technical expertise.
* Active participation in professional organizations.

Position Summary
The Safety & Risk Management Director plans and implements the Company's Safe Workplace program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident‑free work environment on every project for employees and sub‑contractors. Works closely with Division leaders and Field Superintendents to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for an overall safe workplace which includes employee training, OSHA compliance, and risk management. Manage internal staff of safety professionals & individuals with various risk management functions. Assign safety department coverage for all active projects.
Function as main point of contact for reporting all incidents and ensure documentation is completed in a manner that best prepares for potential litigation. Timely communication of serious incidents to executive team.
Review daily safety audits & project safety dashboards to identify trends and frequent observations to ensure appropriate follow‑up is being done at the project level with appropriate parties. Provide feedback to safety team members on their audits to ensure consistency in wording & closure of observations.
Function as main point of contact with insurance brokerage team & various carriers.
Manage all insurance claims from reporting to closure. Includes frequent & regular communication with adjusters, attorneys, medical providers, & Aon/Travelers claim advocates.
Manage insurance compliance of subcontractors within third party compliance management system.
Review insurance requirements from clients and provide guidance as needed on requirements & compliance questions from subcontractors & project managers.
Manage annual insurance program renewal process. Includes preparation, review, & submission of required documentation to brokerage team. Provide requested follow‑up items as needed, and ensure binding is completed in a timely manner.
Provide guidance to internal operations staff on questions related to B&A's insurance program, including project specific enrollments for builders' risk & subcontractor default insurance.
Oversight of subcontractor pre‑qualification system.

Maintain OSHA 300 logs & complete any required government submissions.

We are a team of water resource, geotechnical, structural, and civil engineers that deliver water resource engineering projects focused on hydraulic and hydrologic systems, stormwater management and treatment, navigation, flood risk reduction, riverine restoration, and site improvement projects, for clients nationally and globally. Stanley Consultants is currently seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer at one of our office locations in either Minneapolis, MN (preferable), ChicagoIL, or Muscatine, IA.
Your responsibilities will include leading a team of engineers in the technical analysis, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of existing and proposed river and site, design, preparation of construction documents, reports, and cost estimates for water resources, Federal, environmental, structural, and energy projects. Project development including hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, 1-D and 2-D river and flood modeling, ponding and detention area sizing and design, streambank stabilization, civil design layout, , grading and drainage, utility layout and design, and low impact development feature layout and design. Project management skills and the ability to work directly with clients in the development of projects are desirable.
Some field work and domestic and international travel may be required. Our ideal candidate would also be comfortable with leading and mentoring a team of younger engineers and technical staff.

* Varied software experience including 1-D and 2-D hydraulic/hydrologic modeling, 1-D and 2-D HEC RAS, PCSWMM, HydroCAD or other modeling software.
* Wide knowledge of water resources engineering analysis and desgin, with the ability to lead project development and determination of solutions to meet client needs.
* Strong verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
* Excellent technical writing skills.
* Excellent team leadership skills.
* Open to active participation in professional organizations.
* Working knowledge and experience with AutoDesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley Microstation products.
* Experience in site grading design, surface runoff management, detention design, conveyance.
$119,400 - $156,975 a year

Stanley's Approach to Flexibility
While some members choose to work out of their local office on a full-time basis, we offer a hybrid schedule for eligible positions consisting of two days a week in the office, two days a week remotely, and Friday being a flexible day that can be worked either in the office or at home. Eligible roles can also offer a compressed workweek schedule. Members who participate will be assigned a 9/80 work schedule, meaning every other Friday off!
