Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking qualified Native American Monitors (NAMs), also known as "Tribal Cultural Specialists," to support our archaeological fieldwork in California under various federal, state, and local regulations as needed. Candidates must be enrolled members of a California Tribal Government recognized by the California Native American Heritage Commission (NAHC) and have at least one year of experience working as a NAM (see below). The ideal candidate is highly knowledgeable about Tribal Cultural Resources (TCRs) (i.e., material culture, sacred sites, traditional lifeways, and related topics), associated with their Tribe's ancestral (ethnolinguistic) territory, and is familiar with Cultural Resource Management (CRM) laws, regulations, and practices. The Stantec NAM must follow all of Stantec's corporate policies, procedures, and practices while working as a Stantec employee and be responsible for coordinating with their Tribal Government regarding Stantec's CRM projects and TCRs. Stantec NAMs will need to complete a "Daily Report" summarizing monitoring activities and relevant CRM data for each workday. They are not authorized to conduct formal government-to-government consultation on behalf of their Tribe without the explicit written consent of their Tribal Chairperson or Council.
Your Responsibilities
- Directly supporting the preservation and public education of TCRs by participating in archaeological surveys, construction monitoring, and excavations to identify, document, and evaluate the significance of TCRs for their inclusion on the California Register of Historical Resources (CRHR) and/or National Register of Historical Places (NRHP).
- Working closely and collaboratively with archaeologists to directly influence the interpretation of TCRs during their recordation while educating Stantec's archaeologists about your Tribal culture (also for the benefit of the public record).
- Coordinate communications between Stantec and your Tribal Government, such as relaying time-sensitive CRM and TCR information to your Tribal Leaders.
- Offer CRM recommendations in consultation and coordination with your Tribal Government.
- Completing Daily Reports summarizing daily activities, TCR discoveries/evaluations, and other relevant CRM data for the benefit of the public record within 24hours of each day of work.
- Operating and maintaining a Stantec laptop, tablet and/or smartphone to support the Stantec NAM's workflow and company logistics (e.g., timekeeping, HR, etc.).
- Comfortability with digital hardware and software, including Microsoft Windows, Office, and various digital applications for Smart Devices.
- Depending on level of experience, you may also contribute to any CRM write-ups, including archaeological site records and technical reports, for example.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
To qualify, Stantec NAM candidates must demonstrate: (1) enrollment with a California Tribal Government recognized by the NAHC by providing a copy of their Tribal ID or a letter from a Tribal Leader (e.g., Tribal Councilperson/Administrator/etc.) officially confirming enrollment; and (2) Minimum 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education (e.g., advanced degree) and experience. Plus, one year or more experience working as a NAM. In addition, the successful candidate must:
- Reside within California.
- Have the ability to complete physically demanding tasks in remote areas and/or hot and dry climates, including walking, hiking, carrying loads up to 50 pounds, and excavation, for example. Field work may include exposure to the elements, including inclement weather.
- Be willing to learn, be flexible, able to follow directions, use good communication skills, and be part of an interdisciplinary, fast-paced team.
- Be able to accommodate moderate out-of-town travel.
- Have a good driving record and valid driver's license.
- Demonstrate ability to accept written and verbal direction on project delivery.
- Be proficient in basic computer skills, including use of MS Word and Excel.

The Senior Paleontologist will work as part of a dynamic team that is based in Southern California but includes staff members across the United States. Stantec Paleontology is one of the largest paleontological mitigation programs in the country, holding numerous statewide Bureau of Land Management and project-specific United States Forest Service and National Park Service paleontological permits. Our team includes over 30 paleontologists, including field technicians and field directors, fossil preparators, and principal investigators. Within this team, the Senior Paleontologist will manage projects, oversee field teams, coordinate with clients and regulatory agencies, and mentor junior staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all aspects of paleontological resource investigations, including research, surveys, excavations, monitoring, analysis, and reporting, in compliance with CEQA, PRPA, and other federal, state, and local regulations. Position Summary:
This is a student internship located in Tetra Tech's Oakland, San Luis Obispo Irvine, CA office. Typical projects include a wide variety of municipal, commercial, and Federal Department of Defense projects including performing topographic, boundary, monitoring, and GPS control surveys. Essential Functions:

Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Biological Compliance Manager to join our growing California Natural Resources Group. This is an exciting opportunity to support industry leading projects and programs and opportunities to lead and specialize in meaningful technical work.
This hybrid role can be based in our San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo, Oakland or Sacramento, CA offices.
This position will support numerous natural resource projects in California including management of technical work on permitting and compliance projects. Experience and expertise in California environmental compliance and ecology is required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Act as Environmental Compliance Manager on multiple projects; including review and interpretation of project plans and permits; staffing surveyors, monitors, and technical experts; and compliance coordination with clients, contractors, and resource agencies.
* Work closely with clients, contractors, agency, and internal staff on complex projects involving biological resource protection; species surveys; environmental permitting; and mitigation.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in biology, environmental science, environmental engineering, land use planning, or a related field.
* 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education as an environmental compliance manager on projects involving regulatory compliance, preconstruction surveys, and construction monitoring of environmental resources.
* Valid U.S. Driver's license is required for this role.
* Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's Degree in related fields (biology, ecology, or project management/controls).
* 8+ years of relevant experience
* Familiarity with permit application requirements, and the typical challenges and strategies related to environmental permitting.
* Experience with tracking and managing permit conditions related to the Federal Endangered Species Act (ESA) and/or California Endangered Species Act (CESA).
* Knowledge of and experience with the California Environmental Quality Act and National Environmental Policy Act.
* Experience preparing preconstruction and post construction reports and deliverables.
* Experience as a task lead or Project Manager.
* Experienced in managing staffing and budgets.
* Experience in a client-facing role.
* Familiar with the agencies having jurisdiction over special-status species and hydrologic resources.
* Experience as a lead reviewer of technical reports.
* Experienced in developing project scopes and estimating project costs.
* Positive attitude and adaptability to changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
* Good organizational skills and a strong detail-oriented work style.
* Experience as a field or technical lead, providing oversight and guidance to junior and mid-level technical staff.

Position Summary:

Your Responsibilities
- Directly support archaeological Field Directors and Project Managers by assisting with pre-field planning, cultural surveys, shovel test pits (STPs), test excavations, and monitoring of construction activities.
- Identify, document, and record precontact and historic-era cultural resources, including built-environment resources, in accordance with state and federal standards.
- Complete detailed field documentation, including site records, feature forms, Munsell soil descriptions, sketch maps, and photographic logs.
- Employ digital site mapping tools (ESRI Field Maps, Survey123, ArcGIS Online, etc.) and GPS/GNSS units with sub-meter accuracy.
- Conduct desktop research as needed, including record searches, archival reviews, and preparation of DPR 523 forms or equivalent state records.
- Support archaeological impact assessments and contribute observations to site significance evaluations under NRHP/CRHR criteria.
- Prepare accurate, timely deliverables, including daily logs, monitoring reports, and HSSE documentation.
- Follow company safety protocols and field procedures, and contribute to a safe, respectful, and professional work environment.
- Work effectively as part of a team or independently in a variety of field conditions, often under limited supervision.
- Provide logistical support in the field, including equipment care, vehicle use, and coordination of supplies.
Your Capabilities
- Willingness to learn, flexibility in assignments, ability to follow directions, and strong communication skills to work effectively as part of a team.
- Residence in southern California with availability for moderate out-of-town travel.
- Completion of an archaeological field school or demonstrable equivalent training.

Position Summary

Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking qualified Native American Monitors (NAMs), also known as "Tribal Cultural Specialists," to support our archaeological fieldwork in California under various federal, state, and local regulations as needed. Candidates must be enrolled members of a California Tribal Government recognized by the California Native American Heritage Commission (NAHC) and have at least one year of experience working as a NAM (see below). The ideal candidate is highly knowledgeable about Tribal Cultural Resources (TCRs) (i.e., material culture, sacred sites, traditional lifeways, and related topics), associated with their Tribe's ancestral (ethnolinguistic) territory, and is familiar with Cultural Resource Management (CRM) laws, regulations, and practices. The Stantec NAM must follow all of Stantec's corporate policies, procedures, and practices while working as a Stantec employee and be responsible for coordinating with their Tribal Government regarding Stantec's CRM projects and TCRs. Stantec NAMs will need to complete a "Daily Report" summarizing monitoring activities and relevant CRM data for each workday. They are not authorized to conduct formal government-to-government consultation on behalf of their Tribe without the explicit written consent of their Tribal Chairperson or Council.
Your Responsibilities
* Directly supporting the preservation and public education of TCRs by participating in archaeological surveys, construction monitoring, and excavations to identify, document, and evaluate the significance of TCRs for their inclusion on the California Register of Historical Resources (CRHR) and/or National Register of Historical Places (NRHP).
* Working closely and collaboratively with archaeologists to directly influence the interpretation of TCRs during their recordation while educating Stantec's archaeologists about your Tribal culture (also for the benefit of the public record).
* Coordinate communications between Stantec and your Tribal Government, such as relaying time-sensitive CRM and TCR information to your Tribal Leaders.
* Offer CRM recommendations in consultation and coordination with your Tribal Government.
* Completing Daily Reports summarizing daily activities, TCR discoveries/evaluations, and other relevant CRM data for the benefit of the public record within 24hours of each day of work.
* Operating and maintaining a Stantec laptop, tablet and/or smartphone to support the Stantec NAM's workflow and company logistics (e.g., timekeeping, HR, etc.).
* Comfortability with digital hardware and software, including Microsoft Windows, Office, and various digital applications for Smart Devices.
* Depending on level of experience, you may also contribute to any CRM write-ups, including archaeological site records and technical reports, for example.
Your Capabilities and Credentials

Position Summary
Tetra Tech is seeking a Civil Engineer, EIT to support the design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects in the San Luis Obispo office. This role involves grading and drainage, stormwater systems, complete streets, active transportation facilities, and water and sewer infrastructure. The Civil Engineer, EIT will assist with technical design, construction documents, and permitting while working alongside experienced engineers and project managers in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.
Essential Functions:
* Assist in civil infrastructure design including:
Grading and drainage using AutoCAD Civil3D
Stormwater management and erosion control
Water distribution and sanitary sewer collection systems
Hydraulic modeling and permitting support
Complete streets, bikeways, and pedestrian pathways
* Perform conceptual and detailed design calculations and analyses
* Support preparation of engineering reports, construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates

This opportunity is an exciting opportunity to manage and support industry leading projects and programs in the utility, energy, municipal, federal, and transportation sectors; and opportunities to lead and specialize in meaningful technical work such as complex permitting projects and large-scale environmental compliance projects.
This hybrid role can be based in our San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, or San Luis Obispo, CA offices.
This position will support numerous natural resource projects in the southern and central California regions, expanding as far as northern California and west covering states such as Nevada, Arizona etc including such as wildlife movement studies, Habitat Conservation Plans (HCPs), and large-scale environmental constraints analyses. Primary duties include growing portfolios of large-scale cutting-edge environmental projects, managing projects involving impact assessments, mitigation planning, regulatory compliance and permitting efforts including CEQA/NEPA, 404/401, CESA, and ESA, and preparing environmental documents and management plans. Candidate will coordinate with resource agency staff, lead complex environmental, waters, and/or species-related permitting projects and participate in public review processes.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Effectively responds to RFPs and develops winning proposals, including assembling proposal materials and participating in client interviews.
* Manages a team to prepare large, complex natural resources documents such as Biological Technical Reports, Biological Assessments, 2081 Permit Applications, Habitat Conservation Plans, Eagle Conservation Plans, and/or Delineation Reports, Aquatic Resources Permit Applications or other Federal and State Permit Applications. Operates as primary author or senior reviewer as appropriate.
* Become an AECOM Certified Project Manager. Manage projects/tasks that include all aspects of environmental analysis (e.g., biological, cultural, air quality, traffic, etc.).
* Manages projects with large-scale field efforts and intensive schedules.
* Manages large-scale compliance projects requiring adherence to permit conditions.
* Performs project management duties such as forecasting, tracking, accounting updates, invoicing, progress reports, and scheduling.
* Reviews contracts for understanding of scope, fee, schedule, and deliverables, and all other contractual obligations
* Develops work breakdown structure for control and integrity of work to be performed as and defined by the contract.
* Monitors and analyzes project costs, commitments, accruals, and changes, and takes corrective action where necessary.
* Identifies trends and deviations in financial performance to project team with recommended courses of action.
* Operates as primary point of contact for clients and resource agencies on projects.
* Performs client management duties such as recurring status meetings, milestone check-ins, and day-to-day interfacing.
* Focus on supporting career development of junior staff in the practice.
* Participates in interviews with large or small teams for a variety of clients.
* Candidate will contribute to growth of department through marketing pursuits including proposal preparation, interviews, and business development.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in related fields (biology, ecology, or project management/controls).
* 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in natural resources/project management with experience and expertise in southern California ecology.
* Valid U.S Driver's license is required for this role.
* Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's Degree in related fields (biology, ecology, or project management/controls).
* 15+ years of experience in natural resources/project management.
* Proven track record of bringing in new work, growing projects and clients and delivering winning proposals.
* Experience with career development of junior and mid-level biologists.
* Experience with protocol wildlife surveys, habitat assessments, and/or botanical surveys.
* Possession of valid USFWS 10(a) permits to conduct wildlife protocol surveys in southern and/or central California.
* Previous experience working on environmental programs in the utility, renewables, federal, and transportation sectors in southern and/or central California
* Data management experience, including electronic data collection in field; managing large data sets
* Willingness to work with multiple colleagues on a variety of initiatives
* Successful marketing/business development experience.
* Ability to work in a high-paced environment where changing client priorities result in the need to determine creative ways to get the job done.
* Candidate must be flexible and willing to support multiple projects.
* Team player with excellent listening skills and diplomacy.

Stantec is currently seeking a Senior or Principal Environmental Planner to join our Southern California Planning Group and broader Environmental Services Business Line. The Planning Group is comprised of environmental planners and scientists, regulatory specialists, and project managers providing environmental planning, permitting, environmental impact analysis, and permit condition/mitigation compliance services. The practice focuses on management of multi-agency jurisdictions involving diverse environmental resources constraints throughout all phases of a project life cycle. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of broad professional environmental experience and regulatory knowledge with an emphasis on environmental planning; project management and business development.
Job responsibilities include leading a team of junior through senior-level planners, staff mentorship and training, workload balancing, coordination with other discipline teams and business operating units, leading and preparing proposals, environmental impact analysis documentation and related technical studies, discretionary permit applications, managing projects, and supervising staff. Your Key Responsibilities
The primary duties of this role are to:
- Manage and assist with technical delivery of environmental services related projects across a diverse range of market sectors that leads to an expected 60% direct utilization
- Primary point-of-contact for planning-related pursuits, inputs to operational and business planning efforts, conferences and training, hiring and resourcing needs
- Establish and maintain a peer network of planners that fosters an environment of shared learning, information sharing, and collaboration
- Liaise with the Southern California and Northern California planning teams as well as other Environmental Services groups to identify and enhance regional business development opportunities, develop proposals, and facilitate cross selling of services
- Track and manage the planning group's overall utilization in collaboration with supervisors including identifying key leads and support staff for new pursuits and opportunities for workload balancing
- Identify and coordinate planning staff participation in professional societies, conferences, and stakeholder events related to planning, technical delivery and marketing/business development responsibilities
- Support training and mentorship related to planning-related deliverables, technical standards and industry best practices in coordination with Stantec's Technical Area Leader and National Technical Leadership
- Support the growth of the business center through strategic hiring, professional development, as well as employee engagement and retention strategies
- Assist in the development, communication, and management of key performance indicators for team utilization, safety, and quality

**Pay Range:**
- Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ Areas - Min Salary $ 111,200.00 - Max Salary $ 166,900.00

**Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required.
