In this role you will be assigned to major project reporting to the Construction Manager & Project Manager/Director leading a team. **Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Complete all laboratory work requests assigned. Also participate in performing all pertinent tests for COA's.
+ Maintain an orderly file on work performed. This file is to contain all pertinent information regarding all work undertaken.
+ Observe and conduct practical evaluation tests as required. These tests include density test, flow tests, exotherms, screen analyses, moisture contents, bond detection, casting set times, workability tests, magnetic testing, etc.
+ Complete work assigned in evaluating raw material samples received.
+ Assist in the evaluation of all technical problems as requested. This could involve helping the Quality Assurance Department examine suspect raw material or finished product. This work is to be done at the direction of the Quality Supervisor, or Manager of Quality.
+ When requested, write reports on work completed and observations made.
+ Assist in the calculating, recording, and maintaining of up-to-date files on all tests and screen analyses performed.
+ Under the supervision of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, predict formula changes necessary by computations of variations in raw materials, and prepare batch sheets reflecting such changes prior to issuing to batching crews.
+ Prior to issuing to batching crews, be sure that the use of available re-blend is included on all batch sheets. Also make certain re-blend is used and reported; to verify the accuracy of Re-blend Inventory.
+ Help check the batches by watching the Batch Crew for batching errors and by observing the batches while being placed into the mixer systems. Check all labeling and dating of raw materials to ensure they are correct.
+ Verify all finished products are labeled and packaged correctly. Complete all QA tests and place the data into the computer system. Collect storage samples and keep them in order. Make certain all finished products are approved with a sticker before being placed into inventory.
+ Assist in the training of any new QA Technician, Sales Trainee, or other employee, as needed.
+ Assist in maintaining an orderly plant layout, particularly in raw materials, and with emphasis on the use of partial pallets, shortest rows of materials, and test materials. Also maintain all QA offices and keep them neat, clean and orderly.
+ Attend meetings and serve on various committees when requested.
+ Assist in the development of new test methods and procedures and recommend revisions of existing test procedures and forms.

**Responsibilities:**
+ Use precision measuring instruments to very close tolerance requirements.
+ Use and interpret precision measuring instruments
+ Work from written procedures, complex drawings and blueprints, sketches, operations sheets, specifications and instructions to plan work operations
+ Monitor quality of own work to assure adherence to quality standards and prepare detailed inspection reports as required, document non-conformances.
+ Determine and report any inefficiencies, defective materials, unusual conditions and machining issues
+ Keep required time and maintain productions records.
+ Responsible for the safety and clean-up of own area
+ Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures
Position Requirements
**Requirements:**
+ High School diploma or equivalent required
+ Prefer 3-5 years' experience in a similar capacity
+ Must be able to use standard inspection equipment, ID or OD mics, dial bore gages, digital or dial calipers, thread gages, etc.
+ Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
+ Knowledge of CMM inspections, Magnetic Particle inspections and knowledge of SPC a plus.
+ Good math, language, reading skills
+ Analytical skills

+ Some lifting of various weights, both assisted and unassisted

Position Summary:
Kokosing Materials Inc. (KMI) is seeking a detail-oriented candidate to join our team as a Quality Control Coordinator. This role is primarily responsible for information exchange, by means of: tracking, archiving, and distributing asphalt test information from our production teams. The Quality Control Coordinator will work closely with the operation, quality control, and field density teams to maintain efficient and effective information exchange. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with ODOT/FAA/AASHTO specifications, and possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a problem-solving mindset. This position requires excellent communication skills, a proactive approach, and multitasking abilities. KMI offers a comprehensive mentored learning environment for potential candidates that may need support in one or more of the aforementioned qualities.
This role is located in Mansfield, OH (Terminal and Mix Design Laboratory).
ESSENTIAL Duties and Responsibilities:
Create and maintain the procedures and system controls for reviewing, distributing, and archiving information.
Assist the company with maintaining compliance by adhering to internal standards and external regulatory controls.
Gather and analyze data from test results and create reports to present findings to suggest process improvements.
Support the sales and scheduling departments by answering bid related questions, such as specification clarifications and mix design status updates.
Coordinate the mix design process teams and external client schedules to ensure the proposed production schedules are maintained.
Track and report mix related issues, and participate in generating conflict resolution reporting.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent (bachelor's degree in analytics and statistics is a plus).
Basic understanding of construction materials (asphalt, aggregates, etc.) or willingness to learn.
Familiarity with ODOT/FAA/AASHTO specifications is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret technical data or specifications.
5 years in the asphalt industry preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Prior experience in the asphalt industry is preferred.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues, and supervisors.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to identify and resolve material-related issues.
Accuracy in record-keeping and material archiving.
Relationships:
Reports to the Quality Control Lab Manager and closely interacts with all levels of team members within the organization.
Working environment and physical activities:
100% of duties will be performed in an indoor temperature controlled, fluorescent-lit environment: processing data, performing projections, identifying mix design limitations, and communicating with management and associates. Some lifting between 0 -20 lbs. is occasionally required.
